Weeks passed and I was finally used to my leg. I could run, jump, skip, anything that my normal leg could do, the metal leg could do. I wore it daily now, and only took it off when I slept. Instead of my normal long sleeves, I wore t shirts. Training was mostly self defence, we would get into the hard stuff later, and I couldn't wait. I was getting used to these people. But the one thing we hadn't figured out was my memories. I got flashes, snippets of memories speeding through my mind, not stopping or slowing down. I couldn't grasp them.
"I don't understand. This is nothing like Bucky's." Tony said, once again trying to figure out my situation. I whipped the patches off my head in defeat.
"Whatever. Just give up. Nothings going to work. We might as well abandon it now." My eye just have been red because they immediately came to comfort me.
"Calm down Cami. We'll figure something out." I sighed, settling back down in my chair. I just wanted my memories back. I was in the verge of tears. What if I never got my memories back?
"We should try her." Tony was whispering to Bruce.
"But at might be dangerous. Plus we don't know if she'll be able to."
"Able to what?" I asked. They looked at each other.
"We have someone who might be able to help you." I lit up, I'm pretty sure my eye did too.
"Her name is Wanda and-" Wanda? I've heard that name. Their voices faded into the background as I searched for a memory that wasn't there. I got flashes. A brown haired girl and a silver haired boy. Then screams, anger, knives. I clutched my forehead, why couldn't I just remember?!Tony's POV
I started to explain about Wanda before Bruce noticed Cami clutching her head. We must have triggered a flash. Judging from how she reacted to these names, she must have been from Hydra. I looked over and she was clutching her head, tears streaming down her face. She started to flicker in and out of camouflage, parts of her blending in and out of the wall. She opened her eyes and one was bright red, almost like blood. She screamed, a yell of frustration, then she collapsed. Luckily I caught her and set her down in a chair. She rubbed her forehead."I'm sorry."
"It's ok Cami. We really have to sort this out though. Bring W-her in."
"Are you sure?" Bruce asked.
"Yeah. I have a feeling it's going to get a lot worse."
We got ahold of Wanda and Pietro. They were coming today. Based on what we saw yesterday, we were going to blindfold her. If the name set off that much of a reaction, what would seeing them do? I sat her in a chair and explained what was going to happen.
"It's not going to hurt is it?"
"No." I said. Even though I wasn't completely sure. She nodded and I beckoned them into the room. Pietro insisted on coming too, even though he wasn't needed. We had told her not to talk, it would just set it off. She got to work, her eyes turning red as she entered her mind.
Wanda's POV
It was empty. 12 years of her life was gone, erased. I searched deeper, trying to find a thread of a memory, something to pull everything out. But I couldn't. I exited her mind and beckoned Stark outside."I can't find anything. It's blank. I think we need a trigger, something to make one of the memories appear so I can hang onto it."
"Are you sure that's a good idea? Last time she collapsed."
"It's my last idea. I don't know what else to do." He nodded.
"Let's have you talk then. Just a simple hi." I nodded back and we went in.
"Alright Cami. Are you ready?"
"Yeah." Then I spoke.
"Hello Cami." And then I entered her mind. Snippets of memories were flashing everywhere. I tried to catch them, but they moved so fast. I grabbed hold of one, until I heard a scream. It went out of my grasp. I just needed one. I pulled one out, a good one, from when she was young. One of her and her father playing. I picked a good one to ease her into the process. If this works, we would be doing it again. The screams subsided as I put it in its place. I exited her mind and collapsed into a chair, drained. She was breathing heavily. She pulled off the blindfold. Then she smiled, her eye turning gold.
"It worked! It actually worked! I have a memory! Do it again!" She turned to me. Big mistake.
Cami POV
I actually had a memory! I closed my eyes as I sank into it. I was a little girl, probably around 4 or 5 and I was with what seemed to be my dad. We were playing hide and seek. I was hiding in the closet but then he found me, tickling me until I couldn't breathe. We both ended up laughing on the floor. The memory ended and I opened my eyes."It worked! It actually worked! I have a memory! Do it again!" I told Wanda. But when I saw her, everything came crashing down. I got flashes. This time it was worse. They were starting to form real pictures. Getting longer and scarier. And the worst thing was.
I couldn't get out.
