I felt the ground bump and shake beneath me. Frowning slightly, I kept my eyes closed, trying to figure out where I was. Then I remembered, Hydra, kidnapped, right. I held back a sigh, I didn't want them to know I was awake. Ok so I was in a truck by the means of the bumping and jiggling. Blindfolded, bound with chains, a gag in my mouth. My leg was still on, I thought they would have taken that. My fingers brushed against fresh cuts on my arms. They left a message. In my blood. How thoughtful.
"Are we almost there?" A gruff voice asked.
"Shut up. You've asked that three times in the last fifteen minutes." Another voice snapped back.
"Well it's just a question." He sounded a little hurt.
"Well you are being pretty annoying." Another voice chimed in. A woman.
"Yeah. You'd think by now you'd have some patience." Yet another person, great. Three men and a woman by the sound of it. Four people, most likely lots of training. Blindfolded, bound and gagged me. Not such great odds. Ugh I needed to get out of here. If only Nat was here. Nat. Wait. My leg. There's something about my leg. Ugh what was it?! Tony did something to it. A tracker! Yes! He put it in and I just needed to activate it. Well that wasn't so smart. If I moved, they would know I was awake, and that would mean trouble. I would get sedated again, and that meant I wouldn't be able to switch this on.
"Well maybe if you actually had a shred of patience, we wouldn't be yelling at you." They we're still arguing, that was an advantage. I would need a turn, or a bump. The switch was on the back of the leg, above the knee.
"Well it's not my fault we had to get from New York to Montreal." We were going to Montreal. Thank you Impatient Fool.
"Sit back down, we'll be there in fifteen minutes." Also good information Miss Boss.
"Well you could drive a little faster." What could I call this guy. Matter of Fact Man. That sounded good.
"I'm driving as fast as I can you idiot. Do you want the police to pull us over and ask why we have a girl in the back of the car? Didn't think so." Ok Anger Issues. There was a small bump, and I inches my arm closer to the switch.
"Speaking of the girl." Uh oh. "She awake yet?" You've betrayed me Matter of Fact Man. I felt a harsh kick to my stomach, I held back a grunt.
"Not yet. Not supposed to be till we get there." Impatient Fool said. He kicked me again, this time flipping me to the other side, and I stuck my hand underneath my leg. There wasn't any shouts fo protest, so I was fine. They started another argument, geez who put these four together. I slowly moved a finger, and set it on the switch, and praying there wasn't a click, I flipped it. Silence, well except for the argument. Then a voice.
"She's awake." Who was this? A new voice, she must have not talked. Shoot!
"No she's not. I just kicked her." Impatient Fool said.
"Well her fingers just moved," another woman's voice, this time older. "Her leg must have a hidden weapon, or a tracker as she just flipped a switch." Ok Sneaky Lady. I felt rough hand around my biceps, and I let myself go limp. The blindfold was ripped off and I kept my eyes closed, in a last ditch effort to convince them I was still knocked out.
"Drop the act. We know you're awake." I didn't, and there was a slap to my face.
"Well don't do that. She'll get tired eventually, either we just sedate her or leave her awake." I opened my eyes at this. There was no way I would get sedated again.
"There we go." I blinked at the sudden change in light. The seat was blocking Anger Issues, who was driving, Boss Lady was in the passenger. She was elegant. A bold red lip, leather jacket, pointy nose, blue eyes, tanned skin and light brown hair."Good morning." This was Matter if Fact Man. He was on the smaller side, but still toned. He wore a tight black shirt, and camo pants. He had dark skin, with buzzed black hair and steely dark eyes. He reminded me of Sam Wilson. I looked over to the other man. Impatient Fool. Now this was a man to be afraid of. He stood at least 6 feet tall, muscles on muscles and beefy. His shirt looked like it was about to bust and he wore the same pants as Matter of Fact man. He had a full beard, and his eyes were brown.
"What're you looking at kid?" He growled. I rolled my eyes at him.
"Oh stop." Sneaky Lady, the only person who seemed to be keeping this operation together, told him off, not scared one bit. I studied her. I was right, she was about 40, 45 and looked like she would be the "cool aunt". Her hair was covered with a black bandana, so I only got a glimpse of her ginger hair. Her pale face was dotted with freckles, and there were some wrinkles. Her nose was turned up a bit, and her brilliant blue eyes sparkled like she was cooking up a heist.
"Well welcome to the real world Acquire.""That's not my name."
"Oh but it is." Boss Lady cut in.
"Not anymore." I protested. She laughed.
"Whatever you thought you had, it's gone." She unbuckled her seatbelt and climbed in front of me. "You're alone now."
"Oh look we're here." Sneaky Lady said. And before I could react, she jabbed a needle into my neck, the last thing I saw were her flashing blue eyes.
