I snuck back to the middle of the park, where Dobie and Shoe would be.

"Guys we have to leave. Now."

"Whoa whoa what's going on Cami?"

"Rats. Here." Shoe's eyes widened. We headed off at a fast pace, heading back to our alley.

"Keep your heads low, don't make eye contact with anyone." I whispered. They took my advice.

"Come on. I have a place." They both frowned, definitely confused. I usually never kept anything from them, but they certainly had never heard of this. I dragged them along with me, rain starting to drip from the clouds.

"Good, good cover." I muttered. We walked along, so close. Then we arrived. They both stared. We were behind Stark Tower, no one would ever look for us here. I felt along the wall until I found the loose brick. I pushed it, and a door appeared. We walked down through the tunnel, lights turning on as we walked. The door slammed shut behind us. Eventually we came to an open room, it was a safe house, I found it myself.

"What is this place?" Shoe asked.

"I found it here a while back, before you guys found me. Never had a reason to come here before."

"Well it's nice." Dobie announced.

"There's four rooms, you can take whichever you want." They immediately rushed off, trying to find the best room. I sat down in the couch and waited for them to stop wrestling and find rooms. I waited 15 minutes before they came out. I rolled my eyes at the black eye Shoe now had.

"Really? You really had to fight over this?" I glared at Dobie.

"He was going to take the best room." He shrugged and sat down in a chair. I rolled my eyes again. They were so immature. Then I heard the door grind and I looked up, training my eyes on the hallway. Then who would come rushing in except the owner of the place, Deadpool. He stopped in his tracks when he saw us.

"Chameleon. Never thought I'd see you again."

"Well here I am Pool. We needed a place to stay, and you said I could use it whenever."

"True true. So who are these lovely gentlemen?" I cocked an eyebrow at them.

"Horseshoe, or Shoe. Whatever you want. Nice to meet you." Shoe's greeting was up beat and friendly.

"Doberman." Dobie's, not so much. One word and that's all. I rolled my eyes at him, and then slapped his arm. "What?"

"Oh come on. One word and that's it?" He glared at me, and I glared back. I won in the end, they knew not to mess with me.

"Doberman, nice to meet you." I nodded.

"Yeah well stay as long as you like. I'll be gone in the morning." I gave him a thumbs up and he went to crash in one of the rooms. I flicked on the old tv, it only had 5 channels, so I ended up watching some dumb Disney movie, but it was better than nothing. Shoe and Dobie eventually went to bed, leaving me with the screeching mermaid. I turned it off and headed to the only room left. I plopped on the bed and sighed. I could get used to this, but I promised Pool that I would only use this in emergencies. So tonight would have to do. I closed my eyes and snuggled into the blankets, warming myself up. Then I drifted off to sleep.

My dream was weird. Nothing I had ever seen before. I couldn't have been older than 12 and I was strapped down to a table. A person came in, I couldn't see his face, a mask covered it. He held a wicked needle in his hand, his eyes gleaming mischievously. I felt panic course through my veins. I pulled at the restraints on my limbs, trying to escape. Then he stabbed the needle into my chest. I gasped, yelling as the needle punctured me. He then injected a boiling liquid into me. I screamed, feeling the burning liquid rush through me. It went to my head and it felt like it was going to explode. I felt my head build up with the pressure. I cried and cried. Make it stop! Make it stop! The scientist only laughed at my pain. My head was pounding, feeling like a ticking time bomb. 3. 2.

I jerked awake, almost unable to breathe. What was that? It felt strangely real, almost as if it had actually happened. I shook it off, taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. My breathing eventually subsided and I got up on my shaky legs. I wrapped my blanket around me and sat on the couch silently. I sat there for two hours before Pool came out.

"Oh Cami. What're you doing up?"

"Nightmares."

"Ah. Sucks. Anyways I've got to go. See you around."

"Bye Pool." And with that he was off. I stayed there a little while longer before Dobie woke up. Shoe always slept in, and he was cranky in the morning. Dobie took one look at me and said,

"Nightmares?" He was good at reading people.

"Yup. Nothing I've ever seen before though." He sat down, ready to listen. So I told him everything. He thought for a minute.

"I don't know what to tell you. But I don't think it was real. Unless of course, is was from before the streets."

"Yeah. I mean it could be." I shook my head. "Let's just leave it be now ok?"

"Sure." We sat, watching tv, the news this time, while waiting for Shoe. He finally came out, rubbing his eyes and grumbling.

"He's awake!" I yelled. He just glared at me. "Morning Shoe."

"Yeah yeah." He mumbled. I laughed. He rooted through the cupboards to find something to eat. He pulled out a blue package that said PopTarts. He quickly opened one and took a bite.

"These are so good!" He held the box out to me. I took one and hesitantly nibbled an edge. Not bad. Better than two day old pizza that's for sure. Soon Shoe and Dobie had eaten an entire box.

"You guys are pigs." I laughed at them. They ignored me and kept eating. "Alright guys, let's go." We packed up, borrowing a few pairs of clothes and some food, and were about to leave when Shoe said,

"Do you guys hear that?"
