III: The Heart of Michyeogane

At Jeongwoo's castle in Daegu, South of Sawkorya

"This is preposterous! How could it just vanished so easily?" Jeongwoo is enraged and uneasy. "This is insane!" He shouted as he launches a tremendous aura that shatters the glass in the throne room. It was cold, the air is humid, and everything is messed up. The castle's ceilings have been broken down, some columns have crumbled to dust, and darkness covered the whole Daegu.

"That's enough, Jeongwoo!" Doyoung, Jeongwoo's cousin and right hand, said. "Do not waste your power and energy to something useless. We both know your powers are waning. We can't afford draining out the life out of you."

Jeongwoo looks at Doyoung with still an enraged face. But knowing Doyoung is his trusted ally, he immediately calm down. "I need the heart of Michyeogane! I need to consume it." He goes near to Junghwan very helpless. "I need the heart of Michyeogane, Dobby!" Eventually, he kneels to the floor in anxiety.

"Pick yourself up, Jeongwoo. Remember that you are still the King of this land. You need to remain strong and firm, in mind and in appearance."

"But how can I do that when my powers are slowly weakening. My heart is deteriorating. I need to merge my heart with the heart of Michyeogane." Jeongwoo cried.

"We are indeed unfortunate. We planned to invade and conquer the North in the guise of betrothal to Junkyu. We planned to betray the fairies but the fairies still outsmarted us in the process." Dobby said as he remembers what happened a year ago.

The Heart of Michyeogane is the source of power for all the fairies. The heart is a glowing heart-shaped jewel that is sealed by a powerful spell by both King Minkyu and Queen Juno. It was secretly hidden and carefully placed inside the castle of the Kims. No one knows where it is located except for Kim Minkyu and Queen Juno.

A year ago, King Jeongwoo has learned that his powers will start to wane once he reaches the age of 22. In order to prevent this from happening, he sought the help of the High Oracle. The oracle told him that he needs to absorb the source of power for the fairies — the Heart of Michyeogane. The heart of Michyeogane will make Jeongwoo invinsible as he will be one already with the source of fairy power. He will also be fully immortal and more powerful, such that he will rival the powers of the gods.

"Come to think of it, we have searched the whole castle but it was nowhere to be found. We have casted powerful locating spells but we never uncovered where the heart was. That's really crazy!" Dobby exclaimed.

"I told you so. We will never know since it's only Minkyu and Juno knew its whereabouts." Jeongwoo.

"Aha! Jeongwoo, get up! Get up! I got an idea." Dobby smirks with delight.

Jeongwoo, sensing that his trusted ally has a brilliant idea, got up and attentively pays attention to Dobby.

"Why don't we summon the oracle again and ask where the heart is? Since he is the highest oracle, it could be that he knows everything right?" Dobby suggested.

"Well yeah but everything comes with a price. I have to give up something in order for me to get what I want to know." Jeongwoo said in disappointment. "Remember last time?" Jeongwoo continued, "I gave up someone important for my desire to know my future."

"Then why not give again someone important this time?" Dobby asked.

"Hmh... I only have myself and you, Dobby. I don't have anyone else."

"Exactly!" Dobby replied insinuating something.

"No, no... No, I can't do it." Jeongwoo walks away from Dobby.
