Matthew Loyden once wrote, "the past is not the past if it keeps coming back."

Two weeks passed by. An uneventful two weeks for the Agents of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. Weekly cases replaced by paperwork and cheap office coffee. The same old schedule repeated itself every single day for an entirety of two weeks.

Skylar peaked around the corner. Hoping the wall would conceal her face, she stood by and watched. After five minutes, she had already counted a dozen different FBI Agents pass through the hallway. Out of the corner of her eye, a face moved into reach of her vision. She turned, leaving the safety of her hiding spot, and targeted the young man.

"Hey," she said. He almost bumped into her. "Where are you heading this fast?"

"Oh!" One of his hands reached to the bottom of his coffee cup. The burning hot liquid touched his skin only briefly. "H-Hey. What- what are you doing here?" He said. "Skylar, right?"

"And you're Jack," she stated casually.

"You remember my name?"

"I always remember pretty faces."

Jack cleared his throat shyly. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I wanted to see you, of course," she said. "And perhaps, I was wondering if you could help me with something..."

Skylar leaned into his body. Her finger traced along the striped tie around his neck, only touching on the fabric and nowhere else.

"H-help you? How?" The coffee in his hands shook violently.

"I need the copy of a file."

"What file?"

"Case number #16100006. I think you know which one I mean."

"Wait- that's the case the BAU worked two weeks ago, right? The one Strauss forced over to us?"

"Well-"

"You liar!" Jack snapped. "You're not here to see me, you just want access to the file because you're not legally allowed to anymore." He scoffed and then began to waltz past her. "Stupid of me to think you, out of all people, would actually be interested in me!"

Skylar picked up the pace. "It wasn't entirely a lie," she defended herself.

"Then what was it? You come off pretty desperate, you know. Pretending to flirt with me and then say something like this straight to my face."
