Skylar absentmindedly bopped her head to Tears For Fears' Everybody Wants To Rule The World that came on the radio while she used the case file as a fan against the grizzling heat. Let's just say, her invention worked like a charm, but not hardly enough to stop her forehead from glistening with droplets of sweat. Las Vegas really made her feel disgusting.

At some point, Morgan asked, "Why don't you take off that flannel of yours?" With his biceps stretching the white fabric of his v-neck, he was a beautiful man, handsome even. He could definitely sport that casual yet classy look.

"Derek Morgan," Skylar said teasingly, "are you asking me to undress?"

He chuckled. "Look, all I'm saying is that it has 80 degrees outside. At some point you gotta shed some layers or you'll die of heatstroke."

"And you know that how...?"

"I might be no Reid, but I'm not entirely stupid, either."

"I'm just confused as to why the way I dress is any of your damn business," Skylar snapped. Damn, I'm a straight up bitch today.

Derek shook his head. "I always try to wrap my head around you, Brown," he said.

"You wouldn't be the first to fail at that task, believe me! There's been plenty people trying to get me before you guys."

"Has anyone ever succeeded?"

She thought about that before a moment. Her answer was as nonchalant as it was boring, "Nope."

Derek smirked and said, "Well, there's always a first for everything."

The pair arrived at their destination shortly after. Walking outside was like walking through the desert with a raincoat on; incredibly hot and frustrating. Skylar knew she had changed into the wrong set of clothes — a pair of blue jeans, a black shirt and a blue flannel — but short sleeves were a no-go and she would keep on refusing to reveal them, too scared of the looks she would receive.

Derek was about to open the big wooden door to the community center for her, however, Skylar raised her hand to stop him and at last, opened it for herself.

Her long, confident strides caused him to laugh quietly to himself — he was convinced every day anew that this girl was one of a kind and that no matter what secrets she had, he would never abandon her. For that, she was too precious and Morgan had grown too attached now, anyway. Not in a love but a she's-like-an-annoying-little-sister kind of way.

"How about we split up?" He asked her once they reached the room that looked like the support group's headquarters. The place was swarming with people, donuts and coffee.

Skylar gulped. She hadn't been to a place like this in years. "Yeah," she said with a tiny nod. Of course, she didn't want to split up, but then again, life wasn't a Make-a-wish foundation. So she said, "Let's do it!" Even though she wasn't as convinced as she sounded to be.
