Chapter 18: Christmas Joy Pt 2: The Plan

The Unknown Call (Bff/n's POV):

I head outside since we still have about ten minutes until class and take out my phone. I go into my contacts and pick 'Koul-Mate.' Almost instantly he picks up to my joy.

"Hey, (Bff/o/n/n)! What's up?" Koshi's familiar voice. "Ughh." I groan and he laughs. "Nothing good I assume." "I need help with a plan," I mumble and I hear him make a small sound of confusion. Before he can talk again I clear my throat. "I need help with a plan to get (Y/n)-Chan to talk to Oikawa-San about the soulmate business." I can sense his face contort into a frown.

"Oh come on Kogi!" I whine and he sighs. "Why?" I furrow my brows. "Why? Because she's planning something! I don't know what but I know that if they don't talk about it during the Christmas Eve festival, she'll regret it!" I counter and he sighs. "You're going to the Christmas Eve festival you say?" Koshi says and I sigh in relief. "Yeah she had the idea to get the volleyball team to come and they allowed me to come with," I mumble with an excited smile.

"If (N/n) is going with Oikawa-San for the plan wh-" "Iwaizumi-San probably," I say, interrupting his question. "Ah okay." He says with a laugh. "So what should I do?" I whine and he sighs. "Get the team to spread out before they can partner with anyone else, then leave the rest up to the universe," Koshi says and I whine.

"But she'll stop any-" "If you're planning the perfect date, I'd prefer to watch it happen than to just help." Koshi says, interrupting my whining. "FINE!" I huff out and then smile. "Thank you, Kogi!~," I say happily. "No problem (Bff/o/n/n), have a good day!" My smile grows wider, "You too, bye!" I say and hang up.

Recruiting Help:

"Plan has been decided," I mumble and decide to head to Hanamaki's class since he's the only one who'd be able to help in the way I need. "Hanamaki-San, can I talk to you for a second?" I mumble just loud enough for him to hear. "Sure!" He says and walks out into the hall.

"Sooo, to what do I owe the pleasure of (Y/n)-Chan's shy friend's company?" Hanamaki says in a sing-song voice. "I need help with getting (Y/n)-Chan and Oikawa-San alone together," I say, getting straight to the point. "O-Oh?" Hanamaki says, surprised by the bluntness. "They're soulmates and she's avoiding the fact that they are," I say and his eyes widen. "Wait, that rumor's true?!" He says in disbelief and I nod.

"I'll help one hundred percent! Everyone on the team ships them so hard it's unrealistic." Hanamaki says with a laugh. "Why am I not surprised," I say with a shake of my head and a laugh. "So basically I need you and everyone on the team to bolt as soon as possible when we're at the Christmas Eve festival, that's all," I say and he nods. "That's all to the plan?" Hanamaki asks and I shrug. "That and try to keep away from them," I say with a sigh.

"Okay, I'll make sure to get everyone else in on it! Without telling the two lovebirds of course." He says with an evil smirk. I return his gesture and then head off to class.

(December 23rd) Finalizing the Plan:

"Alright is everyone ready for tomorrow? You know what you have to do?" I ask and the boys nod their heads. "Alright then, I'll be off, (Y/n)-Chan is expecting me." I say and walk off, however, Iwaizumi follows. "We walk home around this time though." Iwaizumi says and I nod. "I'm sleeping over at her house tonight." Iwaizumi nods and we part ways since our lockers are in different areas.

Alright (Y/n)'s POV:

"Finalllyyyyy!" (Bff/n) groans as I make it to the entrance of the school. "Yada yada." I say with a wave of my hands. "Are you sure it'd be okay if I stay the night? What about my mystery present?" She asks and I smile. "Ko's got that covered," I say with a laugh. "So why is (Bff/n)-San walking with us?" Oikawa asks as we start walking. "She's spending the night at my place!" I say as I skip in front of the group. "It's so we can get ready for the festival." (Bff/n) says and Oikawa nods. "Ooohh."

I skip a bit farther up the street before stopping. "Holy shit. (Bff/n/n)-Chan are we gonna have to wear makeup?" I ask in concern as I turn around. She freezes and looks back at me. "Oh no.." She mumbles and we make an exasperated sigh in sync. "What do you guys not know how to do makeup?" Oikawa asks and we shrug. "(Bff/n/n)-Chan is pretty good at it," I mumble causing Iwaizumi to raise a brow. "Then why the unhappiness?" He asks and we look at each other then glare at the two boys.

"Do you know how FUCKING UNCOMFORTABLE makeup is?" We both say in unison. Iwaizumi looks at Oikawa skeptically. "If makeup is so uncomfortable then why do you wear it on occasion?" He mumbles and Oikawa shrugs.

(Bff/n) bursts out laughing and I gasp. "Makeup ruins skin! I thought Oikawa, Toru was all about the perfect skin and hair!" I say and then burst into a fit of laughter. "It ruins the skin?" Iwaizumi mumbles and Oikawa shrugs. "It takes a while though." "It still ruins it though!~," (Bff/n) says as we interlock arms and walk ahead of them.

"Alright, so should we wear makeup?" (Bff/n) asks and I shake my head. "Nah but maybe mascara at least?" I mumble questioningly and (Bff/n) shakes her head. "Nah knowing us we'd probably find a reason to cry there and I don't own waterproof mascara." We say in unison and then look at each other and laugh.

"You're creepily in sync with each other." Iwaizumi mumbles and we laugh again. "It's probably because my cousin and I can be in sync pretty well and they're soulmates," I say with a shrug and (Bff/n) laughs. "Or maybe it's cuz we get each other so much." I nod my head and smile at her comment.

We make it to the place where we part ways and turn to the boys. "See you at one pm sharp!" I say and wink at the two. They both nod and start heading to their houses. "Alright what are we gonna do until one pm tomorrow?" I ask (Bff/n) and she shrugs. "I dunno, games, movies, park?" She suggests and I smile. "Games, anime, and movies and we'll have a deal!" I say as I extend my hand. "Deal!" She says with a laugh as we shake hands in front of my house.

The Next Day (12:10 pm)

I just finished my shower after (Bff/n) and now we're starting to get into our kimonos. As I finish drying my hair I slide into mine. Mine is a dark orchid color and (Bff/n)'s is a deep red. Once we finish with that (Bff/n) does her hair and she does mine. She puts mine in a messy bun, otherwise, It'd be in my face the whole time. Her's is also in a messy bun for the same reason.

"Wow, we look beautiful," I mumble in awe. "You're always beautiful." We both say at the same time and laugh. "NU-UH UH!" I shout and she laughs. "You're prettier than me though!" She counters and I whine. "Why do we always argue about this!" She shrugs and checks the time, 12:32. "Welp we should start walking to school so we get there early enough." She mumbles and I nod. We make sure we have everything we need and start walking to school where the bus is waiting.
