Chapter 19: Christmas Joy Pt 3: Thy Festival

On the Way to School:

We decided to wear the longest jackets we owned to cover the kimonos we were wearing just in case we ran into the boys on the walk there. Just as anticipated as we walked past the place we were planning on meeting, they called out to us. They too were wearing jackets to hide what their jinbeis were.

A/N: Jinbeis are boy versions of kimonos and yukatas. It's what they wear to festivals and other things.

"(N/N)-CHAN! (BFF/N/N)-SAN!" Oikawa called out and Iwaizumi nodded to us. "Hey, boys! I say as they walk beside us. (Bff/n) just nods to them like Iwaizumi did to us. "Why are you two walking so early?" I ask and Oikawa tilts his head.

"It takes ten minutes to walk to school if we have a decent pace. When we walk to school on a normal day it takes twenty. When we're doing something volleyball related it takes eight. With these outfits, it'll probably take twenty-two." Oikawa says and I roll my eyes.

"Yada yada, information complicated," I say and then laugh. "(N/n)-Chan! Why are you being meeannn!" He whines and I shrug. "I just feel like it," I say, and then (Bff/n) bumps into me. "Rude!" We say in unison and laugh. The rest of the walk consists of random small talk.

At the Bus (12:53):

"There's the final four!" Mizoguchi says as (Bff/n) and Iwaizumi get on the bus. "Oops!~," I say jokingly and Irihata laughs. "Well take your seats and we can start heading to where the festival is. It'll take about an hour and a half to get there." Mizoguchi says and gestures to the bus.

Oikawa lets me on the bus first. When I get on I realize there's only one seat open. 'Oikawa and I are gonna have to sit next to each other,' I think and sigh. I happily take the window seat and take out my (Color) 'Not AirPods.' Oikawa sits next to me pretty quickly and before I put on my headphones I look for a suitable playlist, but just opting for my main playlist '(Y/N)'S MIX.'

A/N: I call those almost AirPods but supposedly better, Not AirPods.

I look at Oikawa before putting on my 'Not AirPods.' "Uh, do you want to talk before I zone out for the ride?" I ask and he gives me a soft smile, shaking his head. "Do what you wanna do." He says and takes out his own headphones. I smile at him as well and offer him my left headphone.

He raises a brow but decides to take it anyway. "I don't know if you'll like my music and sometimes it gets pretty dark or sad but..." I drag out the but and just play it to finish my sentence. (Song) was the first song to play and I look out the window to watch the clouds.

I zone out pretty quickly so I don't realize Oikawa watching me as I watch the sky. After a few minutes, I start getting tired so I put my head on Oikawa's shoulder. "Gomen...I'm...getting....sleepy." I mumble as (Song) starts playing. "It's alright." He whispers just loud enough for me to hear causing me to smile. As I expected I pass out after he says that.

He smiles to himself as my face slowly turns soft. He takes the 'Not AirPods' out of our ears, puts them in their case, and then he puts both my phone and the 'Not AirPods' in my bag. He kisses my forehead before laying his head atop mine and watching the sky go by, not quite tired himself.

(Bff/n) and Iwaizumi who are sitting behind us look at each other and smile. (Bff/n) pokes Oikawa's head, causing him to look at the girl with a confused face.

Iwaizumi and her both show him their phones, which have a picture of him kissing my forehead, then they point to Hanamaki and Matsukawa who are sitting in front of us. He looks at them to see they also took a picture of him kissing my forehead, then they point at Kunimi and Kindaichi who are sitting beside us. They ALSO took a picture, who am I kidding, Yahaba, Watari, the coaches, and even Kyotani took a picture. He laughs and then silently mouths, 'send them to me' to everyone, and then rests his head atop mine again.
