On the Walk Home:
Personally, I would've preferred to ignore them and walk home but I decided to talk about volleyball with them. Oikawa and I have a deep debate about things setters should do while Iwaizumi is just watching on the sidelines, extremely weirded out by what we're doing.
"Well if you're very observant and good at noticing when people are watching you and play the game like you're playing chess, then you can figure out the opposing team's moves pretty easily!" I argue. "Yeah but you can't bring out the best in every player if you act like there are only a few players that are more important than others!" Oikawa replies, equally as heated.
"THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!" I shout, exasperated. "You just have to play it like a strategy game." I mumble, "Chess was the first to come to mind okay?" I say with irritation. "Yeah, but you can't focus on a single strategy. What about the times in chess where your first strategy fails?" Oikawa asks as we continue walking.
"...You have to make the best decision after looking at everyone's skills and weaknesses and hope for the best, or have other strategies prepared." I mumble, and Oikawa nods.
"Exactly, but if you already know what pieces you'll have left by knowing the enemy's and player's strengths and weaknesses beforehand, then you'll be able to decide with much more ease." "...Making winning a higher possibility," I say with a sigh, finishing Oikawa's sentence for him.
"I hate to say it but, I agree with Flattykawa. Gomen (Y/n)-Chan." Iwaizumi says with a sigh of his own. "Well if you put it that way, yeah. I agree as well." I say with a pout. Oikawa smiles and puffs his chest out in pride. "See? You should have just agreed!~." He teases and I scoff. "Shut up or I'll slap that smug expression off your face." I grumble and cross my arms.
"I didn't expect you to like volleyball." Iwaizumi says as I look up at the sky. "I guess it grew on me because of my friends playing volleyball," I say with a shrug.
Suddenly my phone starts ringing with the (Well Known Game) theme song causing the boys to give me a weird look. I don't even look at the caller ID and answer it.
A/N: In this situation, I personally would use the Nyan Cat theme song. It's just fitting- I don't know why but it is... If a contact had that theme song you would know every time, just saying.
"Kenma-Kun, how are you on this fine afternoon?" I say as if I'm trying to avoid something. "You said you'd message me after school..." Kenma mumbles, causing me to almost not catch that. "Ohhh right I forgot to tell you my mom wanted me to join a club so-" I get interrupted by Kenma's irritated shouting.
"(Y/N)-CHAN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!" Kuroo shouts causing me to wince and move the phone from my ear. Kuroo continues to shout so I end the call. "Ow, I swear if he gives me a headache I'm kicking him in the balls.." I mutter under my breath while looking at the ground.
"What was that about?" Oikawa asks as he pops into my vision by lowering his head. "Why didn't you guys just walk home?" I ask, tilting my head. "It's dark, it wouldn't be very safe for a lady to walk home alone!" Oikawa says puffing out his cheeks and Iwaizumi nods. "Technically yes? But no." I say as we continue walking.
"So who's this Kenma-Kun and who're you gonna kick in the balls?" Oikawa asks again. "Kenma-Kun is a friend from my old school as well as Kuroo-Kun. Kuroo-Kun is who'll be getting kicked in the balls next time I see him for giving me a headache." I say, rubbing my temples. "Ohhh." Oikawa says, I can tell he has more questions so I glare at him. "No more questions, we aren't friends, just acquaintances."
"But we're on the same volleyball team!" Oikawa whines, causing me to flinch. "You should get kicked in the balls for worsening my headache," I say scoffing as I stop and turn to Oikawa who is now hiding behind Iwaizumi. 'I remember when Kuroo did that the last time we saw each other' I think as Iwaizumi karate chops Oikawa's head.
