Chapter 28: Birthday Blues

A/N: Alright, I felt like I had to do Y/n's birthday.

Because January is almost up and I'm skimming over March. I decided February, I let a randomizer wheel decide the rest.

January 23rd (Monday):

As I gather everything I need to walk to school, I look at my calendar. 'Hanamaki's birthday is coming up.' I think as I grab my backpack and step outside. I'm staying at my old house until I get kicked out since my mom won't be back until the seventh.

"That's a face I've missed." Iwaizumi says as he walks to our meeting spot. "It's been a week Haj-Kun. But I've missed you as well." I say with a closed-eye smile. "(N/N)-CHAN!" Oikawa cheers and hugs me. "It's been four days Toru-Kun." I say with a laugh as he lets me go. "One day is too long." He mumbles and I shake my head. "You're weird." I say and then start walking to school.

"So what'd I miss?" I ask and Oikawa shrugs. "Barbie-San was officially expelled the eighteenth." Iwaizumi says and I cheer. "YAS! My plan was brilliant!" I say and grab a piece of candy out of my pocket and toss it into my mouth.

"Hanamaki's birthday is coming up." I say as I (bite/chew/other) the (Fav Candy). "Do you know everyone's birthday?" Iwaizumi asks and I nod. "Apart from the coaches. They never mention theirs. But I know every one of my friends' birthdays." I say and look for something to get Hanamaki. "Have a present in mind?" Oikawa asks and I shake my head. "Not this time. I have some good ideas though." I say as we enter the school.

I end up having to ask Matsukawa for help on getting a present for Hanamaki. This was my first time asking for help on a present but he was really helpful by telling me Hanamaki wanted this new but expensive game that came out.

Neither Matsukawa nor Hanamaki could buy it but I could. I told Matsukawa that he could take half the credit but he refused, saying he had another present that would work out fine.

Hanamaki's Birthday (January 27th):

When Hanamaki and Matsukawa walked into the gym that day, it was decorated head to toe for his birthday. "Wow." He mumbles as he walks over to the pile of presents. "How's it feel being eighteen?" I ask and he gives me a small smile when I hand him my present.

"Pretty nice." He says as he unwraps the present. "Sweet! I've been wanting this game thanks." He says with a big smile and I give him a small smile and then a thankful smile to Matsukawa.

February 1st (Oikawa's POV):

"(Bff/n/n)-Chan, (N/n)-Chan's birthday is coming up. We should surprise her!" I say as I plop in the chair beside (Bff/n)'s desk. "Good idea but it can't be in the gym. How about her new place? She'll be kicked out that day after all." She proposes and I nod. "Great idea! We'll talk more at lunch since (N/n)-Chan left early to go visit Sugawara-San today." I murmur, slightly jealous.

"Are you jealous of my boyfriend and her cousin?" She teases and laughs. "Wha- No..." I mumble and blush slightly. "You are definitely jealous. When are you planning on confessing? You've already kissed once so-" I interrupt her, "Twice." I say without thinking and she raises a brow. "Oh~ okay, but when?" She asks and I rub the back of my neck awkwardly.

"I was planning on doing it on the last day of school." I say with a small smile. "Good idea. That'll make graduation even better." She says and I nod. "Now go take your seat. I'll see you at lunch." She says and I get up, heading to my actual seat which is two seats in front of hers.

When lunch rolls around (Bff/n) and I talk about the party. "She really likes (Flavor) and (Another Flavor) so a (Cake) cake with (Frosting or none) frosting." She says and I nod. "We should get the ice cream she likes a lot as well." I add and she nods.
