Chapter 9: Rivals Compete Again

Preliminaries:

Before the preliminaries, I went with (Bff/n) to celebrate Koshi's birthday, June 13th. Hinata invited us to his birthday as well, to which we agreed. The preliminaries were going by nice and easy, we'd win a match and I'd explain what I thought was good or could be touched on. Oikawa decided he wanted to watch Karasuno's matches.

I got to hang out with Koshi whenever he wasn't playing a match. When Oikawa found out he got really upset but I laughed it off. "Oikawa-San, I rarely get to see him!" I whine with puppy dog eyes. He acts like a child but flinches at my puppy dog eyes.

"WAH! ARE YOU BETTER THAN ME AT PUPPY DOG EYES!" He shouts in disbelief. A couple of his teammates who saw my face stare at each other and nod, "Yes." They say in unison and I start giggling. "WAH (N/N)-CHAN HOW COULD YOU!" He whines, crying crocodile tears. Iwaizumi whacks him on the head. "SHUT UP SHITTYKAWA!" He yells as a vein pops out of his forehead.

"Iwaizumi-Kun, can I go see my cousin!" I plead. I don't give him puppy dog eyes, I just plead. "Why are you asking me, it's your life." Iwaizumi grumbles and I give him a bright smile. "Thanks, Iwaizumi-Kun!" I say with a bright smile and run off. Oikawa pouts at Iwaizumi.

"Iwa-Chan, he's our enemy!" Oikawa whines and Iwaizumi scoffs. "What, are you jealous at how much time they've been spending together?" Oikawa's eyes widen. "What? No! I just don't think OUR manager should be with the enemy." Oikawa grumbles and Iwaizumi raises a brow. "OUR manager is related to the quote on quote enemy."

Karasuno VS Aoba Johsai:

The match Oikawa has been waiting for finally arrives. Karasuno versus Aoba Johsai. I feel the personal rivalry throughout the match which makes it especially intense for the two teams. We win the first set pretty smoothly 25-15, the second match was a bit more complicated. It's closer and worries me a bit.

'We've already won a set, it's okay (Y/n).' I think as I watch the set unravel. 23-25, they win the second set. The mood in the game gets a bit more intense as the final set starts.

I can tell the boys are pretty exhausted, sadly my brain can't think of a helpful strategy due to me not getting any sleep for the past two days. 'The times my parents stick around are so nice.' I think as I try not to pass out.

"Hey (L/n), are you doing okay?" Mizoguchi questions as I put a hand to cover my face. "Mmph." Is all that can be heard because of my hand. "Could you repeat that?" Mizoguchi asks as I remove my hand. "I don't think I can be much help exhausted like I am." I mumble as I yawn and stretch.

"Too antsy to sleep?" Irihata asks, eyes still focused on the match. "Mmm." Is all I say, I feel my eyelids growing extremely heavy. "Agh, I need to leave before I pass out, excuse me." I mumble as I quickly get up and leave. Before I left the score was 20-19.

Koshi and my team notice my swift exit and grow confused but quickly get their heads back in the game. When I don't come back nearing the end of the match, however, Koshi gets worried subconsciously.

The match finished 33-31, Aoba Johsai winning. I never came back however, I passed out in the nurse's office and have been asleep the whole time. Koshi, distracted due to his team's defeat, doesn't notice this, however, my whole team does.

"Uh coach, where's (Y/n)-Chan?" Iwaizumi asks. "She was exhausted so she went to the nurse's office, would you and Oikawa go check up on her?" Irihata asks and both boys nod.

At the Nurse's Office:

On their way to the nurse's office, they have a small discussion about how I've been acting the past month.
