Haileylooks up from her phone when a knock sounds through her room. Her brother stood in the doorway silently asking for permission to come in, which she grants him. She hasn't seen her brother in almost a year, making this trip to australia all the more important to her since they were both always off doing their own things.
"I know I don't really know the whole story," he starts, taking a seat next to her on the bed. "but you can talk to me. I can tell how upset you are, Hails. No matter how much I annoy you, I'm still your brother and i'm always gonna be here for you."
Hailey, not finding the right words, collapses into her brothers arms taking him by surprise. Ryan hated seeing his sister upset, it always made him feel like he wasn't a good enough older brother but he knows he can't protect her from everything in the world. Heartbreak being one of them.
"Thanks, Ry." she smiles, sitting up again. "I'm kind of just being stupid right now." "Hey! If it makes you feel upset then it's not stupid. All feelings are valid in this house." he laughs, prompting Hailey to laugh along with him. "I know i'm not always there with you but at the end of the day i'm always gonna be your big brother, i'm always gonna be there to protect you."
