"You look pissed." Ben speaks, walking out of the shower. The pair had gotten home from the beach a couple hours ago and were about to settle down and watch a movie.
"It's fine don't worry about it." she smiles, holding his hands as he sits in front of her. "You're a bad liar." he hums, grasping her face in his hands. "What's wrong?"
"Be honest with me, okay?" she makes him promise, placing her hands over his that we're still resting on her cheeks. "Does it bother you that Rudy still talks to me sometimes?"
"As far as I know, it's mainly him talking." "Well yeah, but I know it makes you uncomfortable when people comment about him and stuff." "It does, but those are just comments. Him talking to you doesn't actually bother me, you know why?" She raises her eyebrows in question and he moves slightly closer to her.
"Because i'm the one who's with you right here, right now. You could have easily asked me to walk out of this house the moment he told you he still loved you, but you didn't. You're choosing to love me and I know that and I love you. I honestly don't blame him you know, I mean, have you seen you?"
The couple laughs as those last words fall from his lips, Hailey had never felt as happy as she had in that moment. She swiftly throws her arms around her boyfriend, making him fall back on her bed and starts peppering his face and neck with kisses making him laugh.
"I love you. So much." she speaks against his lips. "Happy birthday, love." And she finally presses her lips against his.
