Y/N's P.O.V.

"You got in pretty late last night." Strange muttered as he walked into the room. I didn't look up from the book I was reading, feeling his eyes on me.

"Well, my brother tried following me back here, so I had to make it difficult for him." I muttered, turning the page as he sat down next to me.

"He doesn't know that you're a sorcerer, does he?"

"No, Strange, he doesn't." I sighed, closing my book.
"I told him my work is private and I can't talk to him about it, because I know that if he found out about all of this, he wouldn't understand it. He'd think I joined some kind of evil cult and he'd try and get me to quit." I looked at Strange carefully.
"He thinks I'm working here, temporarily, sharing a house with friends from work."

"That's not technically wrong." He pointed out and I rolled my eyes.
"Can I ask what took you to Kamar-Taj and made you want to become a master?"

"No, you cannot." I opened the book once again, hoping he'd get the hint and leave.
He didn't.
I looked up at him, once more, seeing his eyes on me.
"No offence, Strange, but we're not exactly friends. I met you yesterday, I'm not just going to tell you about my lowest point because you asked nicely."

"Coffee." He said suddenly.
"Let's go and get coffee."

"Excuse me?" I asked in confusion.

"Me and you, let's go and get coffee." He repeated.
"We can get to know each other. As friends."

"You're very straight forward, aren't you?" I asked with a sigh and he smirked a little.
"Fine."

"I'll let Wong know we're going out. Meet you by the staircase in 5 minutes?" I nodded my head and he stood up, leaving the room.
I stood up and went to my room, putting the book on my bedside table, before using a spell to change into something more casual. From experience, I knew that going out in public in robes wasn't a good idea. People tended to stare and it wasn't fun.
I looked in the mirror at my outfit, actually impressed with it. I wore a pair of black jeans and a F/C knitted sweater with black boots. I made sure I had my phone, money and my sling ring, before heading downstairs and finding Strange already waiting.

"Ready to go?" I asked and he hummed as we moved towards the door.
"So, what do you want to know?"

"What?"

"You said you wanted to get to know each other? What do you want to know?" I asked as we walked down the street, away from the Sanctum.

"Anything. Tell me anything." Strange shrugged and I sighed.

"Well, I'm Y/N Stark. I have 4 PhDs and my brother is Tony Stark-" I began.

"No. What I meant was, tell me something I don't know." Strange interrupted and I looked at him for a moment, trying to think of something.

"Okay..." I hesitated. There wasn't much the public didn't know about me, besides the fact that I was a sorceress.
"I'm insecure. I have insomnia and I don't do well in large crowds. Your turn."

"My turn?" He asked and I nodded.
"Uh... I have a photographic memory, I once kidnapped Loki whilst I spoke to Thor and I have 11 stainless steel pins in my hands."

"You kidnapped Loki and spoke to Thor?" I asked, amused. He nodded his head, seeming proud of himself.
"I can top that. I once made them both breakfast, whilst Loki was trying to stab me. I didn't use magic of any kind and I only got stabbed once."

"Do I want to ask why Loki stabbed you?" He asked and I smirked.

"It was my own fault. I bet him that he couldn't." I shrugged and Strange held open the door to the coffee shop.
"Thanks." I mumbled as I went inside. I was hit with the smell of fresh coffee and pastries, making me smile slightly.
We ordered and paid for our drinks, before sitting at one of the tables.

"So you don't like crowds?" Strange asked suddenly.
"I can imagine that's problematic, given your family name."

"You have no idea." I sighed.
"Tony loves the attention, I do not." I brought my cup up to my lips, taking a drink as I heard a camera go off somewhere to my left as people whispered.
"I never seem to catch a break."

"I can tell." He replied, looking over to where the camera sound came from.
"What do you do for fun?"

"I love reading." I admitted, feeling a smile creep up onto my face as I looked at the drink in front of me.
"I've always loved it. It's like my mind feeds on new information and I find it way too easy to get lost in a good book." I trailed my fingers over the side of the cup, before glancing up at Strange, seeing that his eyes were already on me.
Why did it feel like a date? It definitely wasn't a date, but it felt like one.

"Hey, kiddo. Whatcha drinking?" My head snapped towards Tony as he sat down next to me, before picking up my cup and taking a long drink from it. He pulled a face and there were several more pictures taken as people started to realise who had just walked in.

"What do you want, Tony?" I asked with a sigh.
"And how did you know where I was?"

"I hacked every security system in New York and asked FRIDAY to see if she could find you. The camera across the street caught you coming in here." He shrugged.
"And I wanted to check in with you."

"Maybe we should-"

"Sorry, who are you?" Tony interrupted Stephen and I sighed, knowing that it wasn't going to be pretty if the two of them started arguing.

"Dr. Stephen Strange. Your sister and I work together." Strange replied with narrowed eyes.

"You work together? So you're one of the guys that Y/N is currently living with?" Tony pushed.
"And a doctor...?"

"Yes, Tony. We're friends. We work together and at the moment, we are living together." I glared at him slightly.
"Outside. Now. We need to talk." Tony rolled his eyes as he stood up and left the coffee shop, but not before taking a selfie with a couple of girls sat by the window.
"I'm sorry. I'm going to deal with him. I'll be back in a minute." I muttered, embarrassed that Tony showed up.

"So I'm your friend now?" Stephen smirked and I glared at him slightly.
"Go." He nodded and I followed Tony outside, seeing him leaning against the wall.

"What the Hell is wrong with you?" I snapped at him instantly.
"Looking out for me is one thing, but Tony, you're literally stalking me. It's creepy and needs to stop."

"You're mad, I know-"

"I'm not mad, Tony. I'm livid." I interrupted him.
"I'm a grown ass woman and I'm more than capable of looking after myself. I don't need you following me into coffee shops to check in with me. Its embarrassing."

"I'm sorry, okay? But what do you expect me to do? You've come home after a year and you expect me to be fine with you moving in with people I've never met?" He asked and I sighed.
"Y/N, last time you left without a goodbye. I don't want to think you've done that again, when in reality you've gotten hurt or kidnapped by guys I know nothing about."

"I am not dealing with this now. Go home, Tony." I shook my head.
"And don't think about following me or tracking me down again. I have a phone for a reason. If you need something, call me."
