Y/N's P.O.V.

This day just kept getting worse with every minute that passed.
It started off with me being woke up for an emergency mission, which obviously put me in a horrible mood.
I hated waking up unless it was on my own terms, so when Tony burst in and practically dragged me out of my bed, I wasn't amused.
Then, the mission itself went bad. I got knocked down a flight of concrete stairs and walked away with what was described as 'minor' injuries.
It was mostly cuts and bruises pretty much everywhere, a sprained ankle and a mild concussion along with some blood loss from the cut on my head.
'Nothing too serious' as Bruce put it.
Just to top it all off, there was a thunderstorm brewing and if there was one thing I truly hated in this world- it was thunderstorms. They always seemed so violent and threatening, I had been scared of them since I was a little boy. My sisters used to mock me for it, but no matter what I tried, it was the one fear I couldn't get over.

"L/N?" I looked at my open door, seeing a concerned looking Thor. I gave my friend the best smile I could, considering the terror I was feeling towards the storm.

"Odinson." I replied and he pulled a face.

"No need to be so formal. We're friends, aren't we?" Thor asked and I nodded.
"You know you can call me Thor."

"And you know you can call me Y/N, right?" I asked and he let out a low chuckle.

"Yes, of course." Thor nodded his head, sitting down in the chair opposite mine.
I clenched my jaw at that, knowing that he intended having a conversation and hiding from the storm under my covers wasn't really an option anymore.
Although, I usually loved talking to him. He has so many tales to tell, battles he'd fought, stories of Asgard, I could sit for hours, just listening to his voice.
"How are you feeling? You were dismissed from the medical bay very quickly, despite your injuries."

"I've had worse." I sighed.
"How about you?" Thor shook his head, silently telling me he was unharmed. I felt a twinge of jealousy towards the God in that moment.
There was a low rumble of thunder in the distance and Thor looked out of the window with a small smile as I closed my eyes, taking a breath. I had to pull myself together. I was one of SHIELD's top agents. I was an Avenger. I had no reason to be scared of the weather.

"Is everything okay?" My eyes snapped open as I looked at Thor.
"You're shaking."

"I'm fine." I muttered, shoving my hands into my hoodie pockets.

"Y/N, stand up." Thor instructed as he got to his feet and I waited a moment, before doing the same.
"Your head injury may be more serious-" I flinched as lightning flashed and Thor's eyes widened.
"Y/N?"

"Sorry. I'm fine. My head is fine. I just really don't like thunderstorms." I muttered, feeling embarrassed. I had managed to conceal my fear from the team up until that moment.
"I know it's stupid. You're the God of Thunder, but can you make it go away?"

"It's not stupid. We all fear something, Asgardians and Midgardians alike." Thor spoke softly.
"I don't think sending the storm away is the best idea." Thor moved over to the window, looking at me expectantly and I froze for a moment, before slowly moving towards him.
"You have to face your fear."

"I've tried. Nothing works. I just-" The thunder rumbled even louder this time and my entire body tensed up.
"I just really hate storms." I whispered and Thor's hands landed on my shoulders as he stood directly behind me.

"Y/N, you have nothing to fear or hate. Thunder is a natural and beautiful phenomenon. The chances of you getting harmed by a storm like this are incredibly small." The God behind me muttered, practically whispering the words in my ear. I think he was attempting to be comforting and sweet, but the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up in both fear and anticipation.
"Watch." There was another, louder rumble of Thunder and I tried to step back, but Thor was there, right behind me. His hold on my shoulders loosened as his hands slipped down my arms.

"Thor-"

"Shh, it's alright. Nothing is going to happen to you, Y/N. There is nothing to fear, I'm right here with you." He muttered. I could feel my heart racing, but once again, I couldn't tell the difference between fear and anticipation.
Truth be told, I liked Thor. More than teammates should like each other, but could you blame me? He was gorgeous and strong and funny and a lot more intelligent than people acknowledged. But, he was also forcing me to face my biggest fear and I hated it.

"Thor, no- I can't." I shook my head and there was a flash of lightning. I jumped away from the window and the God, moving to the other end of the room and locking myself in the bathroom.
I felt weak and pathetic and tears burned my eyes, no matter how hard I tried to hold it together.

"Y/N?" Thor knocked on the door.
"I apologise, I pushed you too far. I didn't mean to upset you." With my back against the door, I sunk down to the around, pulling my knees to my chest.
"I cleared the storm, just... come out."

"Can you just leave, please?" I asked and there was a moment of silence.
"Thor, I'm serious. Thank you for stopping the storm, but get out." There was the sound of shuffling, before I heard my bedroom door close and I let out a shaky breath.
I stayed there for a short while, letting myself cry in the comfort of my own bathroom, before dragging myself to my feet and turning on the shower.
Once I had finished my shower, I felt much more refreshed and calm. I was embarrassed by my actions towards Thor and I just hoped that when he left, he hadn't told the others about what happened.
Leaving the bathroom with a towel around my waist, I froze at the sight of the blond Asgardian sat on my bed, his legs crossed as he looked back at me.

"Y/N-"

"I asked you to leave." I muttered and he opened his mouth.
"Thor, I wasn't joking. I really don't want-"

"I couldn't leave, I need to talk to you about something. It's why I came in here." There was a pleading look in his eyes, as if he was begging me to let him stay.
"If you want me to leave you alone after we've spoken, I will. I know I hurt you, Y/N. For that, I cannot forgive myself, but right now I want- no, I need to talk to you."

"Fine." I muttered.
"Just let me get some clothes on, first." I moved over to the dresser and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a tee, before going back into the bathroom. I dressed quickly, actually curious to what Thor had to say.
"Okay... what is it?" I asked once I was back in the room, standing at the edge of my bed and looking down at the God.
He patted the space next to him and I hesitantly moved to sit down.

"Banner and I were speaking." Thor began. That was never a good thing. My best friend and my crush talking, presumably about me... oh God.
"I'm experiencing... symptoms. At first neither of us really understood what it was."

"What?" I interrupted, looking at him in shock.
"Thor, are you sick?"

"No." He smiled weakly.
"Nothing like that." He promised and I nodded my head.
"At first, I believed it was because I missed Asgard, but then when I gave Banner more details, he realised what it was. I wasn't too sure at first, but now I'm certain." I looked at Thor in confusion, waiting for him to tell me what was wrong with him.
"Banner told me you have feelings towards me, is it true?"

"What? What does that have to do with this? No, I mean..." I could feel my face burning as I silently scolded my best friend for dropping me in this situation.
"Thor-" His lips pressed against mine rather suddenly. He was hesitant and clearly a little unsure, so when I moved back, breaking the kiss, I was shocked to see the hurt expression on his face.

"Y/N, I'm sorry. The symptoms I'm experiencing are my feelings towards you. I assumed they were mutual. I should have asked for your consent, before I..." Thor continued to ramble, but I wasn't listening. I was completely in a world of my own, my mind spinning.
"I cannot apologise enough-" Thor went to move, but I snapped out of my thoughts, taking his wrist and pulling him back. There was a confused look in his eyes for a moment, before I pushed myself forward, planting my lips on his. He tensed up for a moment, before kissing me back, his large hands pulling me closer. I broke the kiss, both of us taking deep breaths as we looked at each other.

"I like you too." I whispered and an excited grin spread across his face as he pulled me in for another kiss.
