"No way, Maisy doesn't have a favorite."
While Maisy and Amber went upstairs to grab a blanket and her nightlight for the little fort Miles, Amber and Eric made her, the rest of them were debating who was the favorite.
Cassidy was trying to argue that Maisy loves them all, just in different areas. "What? Think about it, she goes to Beau when she's sad or hurt, she likes to play pretend with Miles, she likes tea parties with-"
Miles was the one to cut her off, needing to prove his point.
"Hey hey hey, woah there lady-" Cassidy paused, staring at him about to smack him for interrupting her.
"Maisy woke me up when she hurt her hand, I'm the one that fixed it!"
Cassidy was about to argue, but knew that he wasn't making that up.
"Okay fine, but almost every other time she goes to Beau."
Beau was sitting back, staying quiet while they fought. Eric was arguing that he could be her favorite, but right now it's simply too competitive to even try. Despite helping build her this fort.
After another second of Cassidy and Miles going back and forth, naming off examples of times they were obviously the best, Beau cut them off.
"Sorry you two, but I'm obviously Maisy's favorite."
There was a split second when both Miles and Cassidy stopped talking, they were about to start yelling and arguing again, but Maisy hopped into the living room carrying a bunched up blanket. Amber was right behind her carrying the starry light.
"What are you guys fighting about now?" Amber could hear their arguing from upstairs, but it was muffled enough that she couldn't make out the words.
"Hold on, shut up-" Miles put up his hand before anyone could even answer his girlfriend. "Maisy? Who's your favorite out of all of us?"
Maisy looked up at them, glancing at everyone before looking back at Miles. "Amber's ma favorite."
They all stayed silent for a moment, before they all dramatically declared their feelings of betrayal to Maisy.
But Maisy ignored them, and continued stuffing her blanket in the fort. "You guys act funny sometimes."
•. •. •.
"Here you go, now we won't get all messy." Amber pulled one of Miles' t-shirts over Maisy's head so she wouldn't splatter paint on herself.
They decided to paint today, Amber convinced them all to do it together and channel some creativity. There isn't much else to do on a random Sunday afternoon, no work, no school-no plans.
"Alright, everyone be free to paint whatever you want." Amber brought them to her friends 'studio' who hosts art classes on the side.
Everyone had their own easel, even Maisy. Amber lowered one down for her, and told her to go crazy.
Even Beau agreed to come paint, he didn't have any idea of what he was doing, but he was trying his best.
