Chapter XVIII (I Wanna Know What Happened)

POV: Sonic

"So, I want to figure out what happened last night!" I hear as I open my eyes to the sudden yelling. I turn around to see that Shadow was still asleep. I looked at him, peacefully sleeping. I watch as the covers rise and fall as he slowly breathes. I decide to let him sleep because we were both up later than everyone else last night.

As I slowly get up and yawn, I recover Shadow as I slowly open the door, trying my best not to make the door creak. After, I slowly closed the door. There, the yelling was more prominent.

"Why do you care so much about this sis?"

"Why do I care... You two were both on the news all morning, that's why I care!"

As I turned the corner, I saw that Sonia was there, going at it with Manic as Tails just sat wide-eyed in the background. "Sonic, Manic, could you too please shut up. Shadow's up there sleeping, and I really don't think that you want to see him mad!" I yelled slightly, trying my best not to yell too loud.

"Oh, wouldn't want to wake up your boyfriend," Sonia said sarcastically, trying to mock me. "Whatever... I'm pretty sure that you didn't come here just to harass my boyfriend, what do you want?" I try my best to say calmly as I go into the kitchen to make me and Shadow (when he wakes up) a cup of coffee.

"Well, I saw you all on the news yesterday." She looked at me. "And?"

"I wanted to know what happened." I nodded as I come back into the living room and sat next to Tails on the couch. "So, we just went to check something out at Stardust Speedway. Long story short, we found this robot-" she cut me off.

"Wait, is Robotnik back?" She said as she looked concerned. I could tell why she was concerned, knowing that mom was still in the hospital. I was pretty sure that she will be discharged by next week, but she still won't be back to 100 percent for a while. Even though I was mad at her, she is still my mother.

"We actually don't know. For example, the robot wasn't like his Badniks. It was basically a robotic version of me, that I dubbed 'Metal Sonic.' He didn't have any blasters or anything, but he did match me and Shadow's speed. Luckily, we stopped it. But in the end, I saw someone. He had the shape of an egg, but I was not too sure..."

"Oh... I have a question, why didn't you or Manic use your medallions?" she questioned. I thought about this for a second but didn't really know how to put it. "I don't know why Manic didn't, but I used this new attack I had learned from Shadow. It's called a Spindash..."

After a while, Sonia finally left. As I looked at the chair where manic was, I could tell he was sleeping. "Yo Manic, wake up..." I say as he opens his eyes, blushing slightly. "I wasn't sleeping."

I rolled my eyes at the response. "That drool stain says otherwise," I say as I point to the stain that lay right where his mouth was. "Did you get any sleep last night?" I asked him as I noticed the bags under his eyes.

"Well, besides all of your noise you three made last night, I was thinking about something and was stressed. I... I don't really wanna talking about it though."

"We were watching a movie. Also, all jokes aside, I didn't know that somethings bothering you. Why don't you go relax for the day, maybe go see Scourge for the day, I think he'll be happy to see you." I say trying to cheer him up. I could tell by the way he looked that something was up, but since he didn't want to talk about it, I didn't want to force him. And maybe seeing his boyfriend will make him feel better.

"You sure bro?" he said as he looked at Tails, and then me. "Sure, it's fine. Everyone needs a break. And if anything happens, I'll call you." He looked at Tails, who nodded also.

"Ok then, thanks bro." he said as he grabbed his coat and left after a few minutes.
