Chapter I (The Point Of No Return)

POV: Author

"Stand down, Robotnik, or else..." the former queen commanded. She was standing beside her three kids; Sonic, Manic, and Sonia. Sonic looked like he was about to go straight for the doctor, but his mother put a hand in front of him. "Stay back and wait." She politely asked her son. He slowly nodded and calmed down.

"Haha... or what? Not like you guys can take on me." An army of robots started to walk up behind him. "Not like this, at least."

Dr. Robotnik chuckled evilly to himself as he pointed his finger at them and yelled, "Attack!" suddenly, the wave of robots charged at the four. With some still in the back, readying their blasters. 
Sonic looked at his mother and siblings and nodded. They nodded back signaling for their plan to begin.

Sonic quickly dashed forward and to nobody's surprise, all of the bots started to follow sonic. He ran around hoping that he could make a so-called heard of them.

"Yo bro, catch!" The green one yelled, throwing his brother a long chain. Sonic quickly grabbed i for the air and started running around the hoard of robots. After about two laps, he stops and backs up.

"Manic, now!" He yelled to his brother. Manic summoned his drums and with one swift kick of the base drum, a earthquakeoccurred. This created a large crack that therobots fell into.

"Good Job, you managed to get rid of my army." He evilly smirked. He lifted a remote controller from his pocket. "Oh? I wonder what this does-"

Sonia blasted the remote into pieces with her keyboard. Robotnik look scared, really scared.  Like he didn't know what to do. He stud there in shock. Hmm, I got the perfect plan. "Here you go, I give up."

POV: Sonic

"Here you go, I give up."

What does he mean, there must be a catch.

"What are you planing on Robutnik (I intentionally spelled it like that)? You wouldn't just give up you're so-called empire without a fight?" Everyone looked sure that something was off. I looked at Sonia and Manic. They both gave a shrug, not knowing the idea of this.

"F-Fine, just... go. Before we reconsider keeping you alive." Mom said. Pointing her hand towards the castle gates. Dr. Eggman starts walking towards the gates and suddenly turns back around, looking mom.

"Oh yea, one more thing." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a controller. He then pressed the center red button. I ran as fast as I could to take the controller away from him, but I was too late. I suddenly hear screaming in the background. I turn around and see my mom on the ground, with a sword sticking into her back, and coming out the front.

"Ahaha... Have a nice life hedgehogs, and don't get too comfortable." He laughed maniacally as he just disappeared.

I broke down right then and there. I couldn't bear to see that all that we've worked towards, reuniting with mom, over. I cried as manic quickly called the paramedics. Sonia quickly noticed me and came to my side and tried to help make me feel better, knowing I was taking it the worst.

Shortly after I stopped weeping, the paramedics arrived and took mom away. We all got onto the van and drove to the hospital behind the ambulance.

I did not sleep at all. I stayed in the hospital with mom all night while my siblings were getting at least some sleep. I couldn't bear to think that if I was just a little bit faster, I might've been able to avoid all of this. I watched as the doctors ran tests on her as I slowly cried myself to sleep.
