Chapter XIII (A Wake Up Call 2/2)

POV: Sonic

"Do you want to try with me?"

I stood there in shock. Did he just ask me out? I don't know what to tell him. I've never really been in a relationship before. H*ll, I'm 15 and have never had my first kiss. I don't really want to be in a relationship now. I've basically just meet him (again) and I don't want to rush things. I look at Shadow and drop my ears.

"I-I'm sorry, but I've only just meet you again two days ago, and I feel as if I'm rushing this. I've never been in a relationship before and this is new to me... but I'll think about it." I felt sorry for rejecting him. He looked at a loss for words.

"O-Oh, I-I'm sorry." His muzzle was red after he had gotten rejected, but soon went back to normal. I could tell that he was embarrassed. I feel bad for the fact what he just confessed his feelings and I just rejected him. I looked away in guilt.

"C-Can we s-still be friends?" He asked. I turned around and put my hand on his chin and held it up. "Yeah, you're fine. I'm sorry, I'm just... not ready." He looked a little embarrassed, but overall a little better.

"It's okay Sonic." I leaned over and hugged him. It was a warm and friendly hug. I felt his hands wrap around my back as I purred quietly. "Good."

I let go and go sit on the couch, and Shadow follows. We both sit next to each other and I find something to watch on TV.

I feel my phone vibrate on my lap and pick it up. It was a video call from Sonia. I quickly answered it and put it on speaker. "Hey I sis...oh, and Manic. What's up?" I ask the two. I can't really tell where they are from the video. All I knew was they weren't at the castle.

"It's mom..." I suddenly begin to panic. "W-What happened?!?" I say in a scared tone. I didn't know what was happening, mostly because they were both smiling.

"She's awake." I began to smile and looked at Shadow, who also smiled at me. That's when she saw him.

"Oh, he's there." She said angrily. I rolled my eyes. "What's the big deal? He's just a friend." I assured her. Then she rolled her eyes and looked at me.

"That's exactly what Manic said about Scourge, and exactly what you're doing right now! Whatever... see you in a bit." And she hung up.

"I f*cking hate her sometimes." Shadow looked at me, surprised. I never really swore often and if I do, I was usually pissed.

"Can you tell me why? I'm pretty sure I already know, but I want to hear it from you." I looked at him and smiled.

"It's the fact that since I'm a prince and am going to "probably" be king someday, that I should marry a princess. Not be in the city talking to guys. But she never will understand that that's just who I am." I put my ears down and rubbed my face. "If I had a choice, I wouldn't be king, and I would live here all my life."

"Is it like this with your brother too?"

"Not really. He was able to come out easier. Since he is the "youngest" while I'm the "oldest," I will become king while he will remain a prince. Sonia doesn't really care who he dates because of that." Shadow nodded in agreement.

"Look, I'm sorry about all of this. If there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know." He told me sincerely, holding my hand. We both blushed at the action.

My face felt a little heated and I couldn't stop staring into his ruby eyes. I was just enchanted by him. I started to lean closer to him. I couldn't stop myself, until our lips met. It was amazing, having him be my first kiss, but it didn't last long. I could tell I caught him off guard so I stopped and moved away.

He was blushing a lot and so was I. What just happened? I kissed him, that's what happened! "There might be something you could do~" I smirked. "Maybe I'll give you a try." He smiled and hugged me back. "Thank you Sonic, I love you." He said as he pulled me into a kiss. It took me a bit off guard, but I quickly melted into it.

This one was different. It was more passionate than the first. I knew basically nothing about this and relationships so I try my best not to make it awkward. After a while, we break apart to breath, both of us panting slightly.

"We'd better... get going, Shadow." I say, still painting a little. He nods and puts his hand on my shoulder.

"Chaos Control-"

Meanwhile

POV: ??

"Ohhohoho... my plan is finally starting to come together. All I need now is for the family to split, and then I'll make my move. MuahaHahahAhHaHAHAHAHA..."
