The Next Day
POV: Author
Sonic woke up to the sound of the nurse coming to the room at the hospital. He looks around at the nurse who is checking by his mothers vitals. The door suddenly flys open again. This time, it was his siblings. He walked up to them and hugged them.
"Sorry we left you." Sonia told his brother. "Don't worry, it's fine," the azure hedgehog said calmly.
"Hey bro, do you know what's gonna happen?" The green one asked as he walked to the bad, beside the nurse. She looked surprised but hesitantly answered the green hedgehogs question.
"She's in a coma. W-we don't know if she will make it... we're trying the best we can but only time will tell..." she then walked out of the room.
Nothing was said between the siblings for some time. A few random noises escaped sometimes, but nothing great. After a few minutes, sonic burst into tears.
POV: Sonic
I couldn't hold it in any longer and just burst. My siblings came around me and hugged me, trying to comfort me. But all I could think about is the mistakes I made.
"I wish I could've g-grabbed it before h-he pressed it." I sniffled, "then none of t-this would've h-happened. We could've lived in peace, but no, I had to r-ruin all of it!" I snapped. I don't really know why but I just did.
"It's alright Sonic, everybody makes mistakes." My sister said while still trying to comfort me.
"Yea bro, before I meet all of you, I was stealing things from people. But you still forgave me, and we forgive yo-" I cut him off.
"I know about all of that, but this is different!" I snapped, tears still flooding my eyes. "If she dies, I will be devastated knowing that i could've done something to prevent it." I calmed down a little as Manic pet my quills. "I just... need some time alone."
I got up and started to walk out of the room. "Where are you going exactly?" Sonia asked. "I'm going to get a house for myself, I'm sorry, I just want to be alone for a while. I'll keep in touch and if something happens, call me." I say as I wave goodbye and dash out of there."
