Chapter X (Family And Friends)

Why am I being so nice to him, I really don't know why.

I hate this.

I'm almost never nice to anyone. It's all thanks to Rouge, she told me to be nice to people, and then something happened.

I was showing my feelings.

This doesn't feel like me.

"POV: Sonic

I look over at Tails who is smiling, probably exited and Shadow... well, On his phone. I looked back at the road and turned onto the road that lead to the castle entrance.

Shadow looked over at me and glared. "Where the h*ll are we going?" He asked. I ignored him as I drove closer to the main gate.  As I stop and roll down my window to talk to the guard, Shadow looks at me me with a serious expression.

"Prince Maurice, welcome back, you and your friends may go through." He said. I closed the window and continued driving.

POV: Shadow

Wait, did that guard say Prince Maurice? Oh sh*t. Now no matter what, I basically have to be nice to him, if I don't wanna get killed I mean. "You're a prince?" I say confused. I try to play it as I don't understand.

"Yes. Sorry I didn't tell you before, and I would hope you won't tell anyone about me. To everyone, I'm Sonic The Hedgehog: Hero Of Mobius, but here in Prince Maurice: Son of Queen Aleena." I couldn't really believe that I was in a car with what might be the future king. I keep myself calm and after we park, we get out and make our way to the entrance.

POV: Sonic

I walk to the castle next to Tails, who seems pretty exited to meet everyone. Shadow stayed in the back. But still kept up with us. As we stop at the main door. I put my hand out and knock. Soon after the door opens to a Green hedgehog.

"Hey bro, didn't know you were bringing you're friends." He said surprised. I lightly laughed. "Sorry, I told Tails I would bring him, and I really wanted him to come too..." I say as I point to Shadow.

"Oh, by the way, this is Shadow." He walked over and bows. "Nice to meet you, prince Manic." He says genuinely. Both me and manic facepalm at the action.

"You don't have to be that formal dude." Manic chuckled. "Yeah, you should probably act that way towards my mother though." I said too much. My smile faded into a straight face.

"Where is the queen of I can ask?" Shadow questioned. My ears dropped. "She is in a coma. She has since our last encounter with Robotnik." I said which made everyone's ears drop too.

"That's why we called you here bro. We'll discuss at dinner. In the meantime, I need to talk with you. Alone." I tell my friends that I'll be right back and went with Manic.

"So, is he you're boyfriend? I didn't know you were gay." I blushed a deep red, and I'm pretty sure Shadow heard it too because I looked over at him and he was also lightly blushing, trying to hide it with his hands.

"Yes I am gay, but he's not my boyfriend." I stated, which made Manic gasp. "Wait, you actually are gay?!?" I blushed again and nodded. "Is there something wrong with that?"

"Not really. I've dated a couple guys in my past. But I wouldn't tell Sonia. That's all I'm gonna say." I sighed knowing that he was probably right. I really don't think that she would approve.

"So what was it you wanted to talk about with me?" I asked. He looked at me sarcastically. "I just wanted to see how my lil bro was doing." I smiled and laughed sarcastically. "Bro, you know I'm older than you."

"I know." He said smugly.

When we got back, Shadow was on his phone while Tails was flying around the room. He flew towards me and put down his hand. I grabbed on and up I went.

The main entrance was about three stories tall and overall pretty large. I was about twenty feet in the sir when Sonia walked into the room.

"What is goin-" she stopped in surprise. I let go of Tails and landed on my feet in the ground. Tails came down too. "Hey sis." I smiled awkwardly. Tails looked shy at the expression on Sonia's face and hid behind me.

"These are my friends. This is Shadow, and you've already meet Tails." Shadow awkwardly put out his hand and the princess shook it. We started to make our way to the dining area and go eat. Man I was starving.

I seriously don't know where I'm going with this story. I'm basically winging it and trying my best for it to be good.
