"HELLO, MR. BESSON." daniel approached the boy after their astronomy class, the blonde now happily enjoying his new seat next to the brunette.
"no, you're in trouble, seavey." corbyn pouted, sending a small glare at the boy next to him, "i am actually mad at you, for your information."
"why, what'd i do?!"
"you distracted me!" corbyn whined, "you were too busy playing footsies with me, you were barely able to concentrate, and by association i was barely able to concentrate either because i had to defend myself!"
daniel rolled his eyes at the brunette, "you did not have to engage, you just chose to, besides." daniel nudged the boy's shoulder, "you love playing footsies with me."
"i'll have you know it sparks absolutely zero joy." corbyn grumbled.
daniel cooed from besides the boy, wrapping a heavy arm around the brunette's shoulders, "you poor baby." corbyn glanced up at the blonde with soft eyes, "you can't keep pretending."
corbyn scoffed, pushing the boy off of him with a groan. daniel's laughter sounded loudly in his ears and despite the growing scowl forming across corbyn's face, the brunette could feel his cheeks lighting up in a blush.
the redness of the boy's cheeks did not go unnoticed by the blonde, daniel immediately cooing at the brunette, "you're blushing!"
"i am not!" corbyn protested.
"you so are." daniel teased, "did i make you blush, corbyn?"
"no, you are making me mad, daniel." corbyn mocked, pushing the blonde away from him as he tried to wrap the smaller up for a hug, "stop touching me! you lost your touching privileges."
"why?! corbyn, i need you. i'm touch deprived." daniel whined.
corbyn rolled his eyes, scoffing, "you'll be fine, you big baby. you just like annoying me. i'll have you know this is a bully-free campus. i'll report you to the dean, this is literally homophobic!"
daniel gaped, scoffing at the boy's words. "wait, what do you mean homophobic?"
corbyn seemed to realize his words, his mouth opening and closing blankly as he tried to find the words, "u-uh yeah. i'm gay."
the brunette failed to meet daniel's eyes after his words, his body tensing up as if he were waiting for some sort of rejection from the taller boy. daniel smiled at the boy, in the short time he'd gotten to know the brunette, he'd realized how incredibly insecure the boy was. he'd managed to sound unsure in almost every sentence he'd mutter. if it wasn't a joke he was making, the brunette constantly had his eyes trained on his fingers as they fumbled around nervously, his teeth finding a permanent home as they gnawed into his lip, his nails bitten to the stub with the way he chewed on them.
he was an absolute anxious mess. but daniel loved that about him.
he didn't know what it was about the boy. he didn't know if it was the shy look he acquired when he said something he wasn't sure everyone around him would like. he didn't know if it was the blush that loved to find it's way onto his cheeks every time daniel tried to wrap him up in one of their hugs or engaged in a battle of footsies. he didn't know if it were his soft blue eyes, or his small button nose, or his bright perfect smile, or his somehow perfectly suited hair, or his style or his giggle or if it were just him, but daniel found himself constantly captivated.
daniel tapped the boy's shoulder once, waiting for corbyn to meet his eyes before sending a reassuring smile down at the brunette, "nice to meet you, gay. i'm bi." daniel thought over his words for a few seconds before groaning loudly, letting his head fall into his hands, "that was so incredibly stupid and corny, i'm sorry." daniel let a laugh bubble out of his chest, "but i'm bi, corbyn. you don't have to be nervous, i'd never judge you, for anything."
and personally, corbyn did not like the signs the universe was trying to throw at him. she had little to no right. now yes he's saying now that he would never judge corbyn now, but would he feel that way when he found out about the boy's DID? would he claim he didn't feel safe around the brunette once he confessed? would he lose this person who made him smile and blush more in a few days than he had in a few months because he'd think that he was just a weirdo who heard voices in his head?
corbyn looked up once he felt an arm wrap around his shoulders, his body pulled into a warmer, comfier one. the brunette's eyes met amused ocean ones, daniel raising an eyebrow down at the boy, "do you ever get out of your head for a few minutes?"
corbyn smiled, pretending to think about it for a few seconds before shaking his head, "nah, i think i rather like it in there. she's homey."
daniel snorted at that, "hey, could i get your number?"
the boy felt daniel freeze from beside him, "m-my what?"
"your phone number? the little device in your hand that goes 'beep-boop'." daniel explained, smiling when he was hit with corbyn's hand, "stop hitting me!"
"i know what a number is, bully. b-but yeah, i'll put it in your phone."daniel handed the boy his phone, corbyn messing with the device for a moment before handing it back to him, "done."
"thank you so much, sir. i heavily appreciate." daniel smiled, "okay, tour guide. where to today?"
"i can't believe you're stilling calling me tour guide." corbyn complained, a pout forming up towards the blonde.
"you are. and a damn good one at that." daniel smiled sweetly, batting his eyelashes down at the brunette.
corbyn made a face at the boy, pushing him away, "anyways," the boy started, ignoring daniel's sound of protest, "i think today we should go to the library."
daniel gagged at corbyn's words, dramatically falling onto his knees in the middle of the campus turf, "i think i've met my fate." the boy spoke, his words strained as he held a hand to his heart, "is this my sign, God?"
corbyn laughed loudly, the sound warming daniel's heart. the brunette tried to grab onto daniel's hand trying desperately to pull the boy up from the ground. "get up, you big dummy. you're so dramatic."
"you're trying to take me to library! i have a right to react this way, i'm exercising my rights. and quite honestly, i think you hate me." daniel whined, sloppily pulling his body up from the ground.
"yeah! we always meet up at the library, during the week. it's a tradition." the boy hummed.
"i don't think i like your traditions." daniel grumbled.
corbyn rolled his eyes, swatting the boy's arm, "you better learn to love them. besides with the way you hate paying attention in class, i think you're going to need to spend a lot of time in the library."
corbyn laughed at daniel's gaping expression, poking the boy's chin before taking off on a fast-paced walk across the campus, a loud laugh slipping past his lips as he ignored daniel's complaining protests.
corbyn could definitely get used to this.
