Me and my silence often tete-a-tete
Do your nerves begin to fray
When the naysayers doubt your way?
Are you willing to do what it takes?
Me and my silence often dig deep
Laughing at my attempts to keep
Myself from falling asleep
A sky full of stars is all I need.
Me and my silence often attest
My courage to go on when my body protests
More than the pain
It takes sheer audacity to remain in the game.
Me and my silence often fight
When my mind does a "do it or flight"
Running away is so easy than facing defeat
Standing up for your dreams takes unlimited fortitude.
Me and my silence often say
Why are you hiding away
When you have so much to share
The kindness of your soul, your care
Just let your light shine.
