Tori’s POV

It had been too long since I had been last here. To be honest I didn’t miss it; it held way too many bad memories. Since I was last here, I hadn’t seen my brother Stefan and I rarely saw my brother Damon after about twenty years of being here.

I slowly walked towards the school. There was never anything like this when I lived here, not that it was seen acceptable for women to go to a school.

Walking into the school I got to the front desk compelling the receptionist to let me into the school. It wasn’t like my plans were bad, just no one knew about me so it was best to keep it that way. I looked a lot older than Stefan seen as I was nine years older than him. Seen as nowadays if I was known I should have been Stefan’s legal guardian.

Whilst I compelled the woman to let me in I got her to tell me which class Stefan was in. He was in a history class with a teacher called Mr. Saltzman. As I reached the classroom door I knocked before slowly pushing it open.

A man who looked like he was in his late twenties or early thirties stood at the front of the class, whilst the students sat in front of him which included Stefan.

The classroom went silent as they saw me.

“Hi, can I have Stefan Salvatore for a moment please?” I questioned.

“Of course,” Mr. Saltzman smiled.

Stefan stood up and walked out of the classroom closing the door behind him.

“Miss me brother?” I smiled.

“Tori, what are you doing here in Mystic Falls? What are you doing here in my school?” He frowned.

“I take that as a no then. I came back to see my beloved brothers, and why do you go to school? You went to school once, and did your best to stay out of it, why do you want to be now?” I chuckled.

I could tell that he wasn’t impressed with me being here. Stefan and I rarely saw eye to eye in our human life, let alone in our vampire life.

Stefan had always been the odd one out when it came to the three Salvatore children. Damon and I had the same black hair and blue eyes that our Mother had before her death, whilst Stefan was a spitting image of our Father. Granted Damon’s hair was straight like our Mothers and I had the same wavy hair as my Father and Stefan. As well as our appearances our Father had never been keen of Damon and me but Stefan was perfect in his eyes.

I guessed our Father disliked me due to my similar appearance to his late wife, and I guess that could contribute to his hatred of Damon. But also Damon and I preferred to do as we pleased even if it meant not conforming to societies ideals of the time.

“I want to have an education Victoria, I want to be part of today’s society and actually have a happy life, not that you’d know anything about that,” He frowned.

“Oh brother, how I’ve missed you. I do believe I read every single one of the books you men of the house owned, whilst I remember you hiding your books in Father’s study to pretend you didn’t own them. And why do I want to fraternize with pitiful humans, we are a superior race Stef. Make sure they know that,” I smirked.

Before we could continue our conversation he turned his back on me, making his way back into the classroom, so he could learn amongst the humans.

The only reason I came to see Stefan, prior to finding Damon, is because I knew exactly where Stefan would be, as he was stuck in the school, whereas Damon could literally be anywhere. I had no idea whether Damon was still in Mystic Falls, although last I heard he was.

Hastily I left the school making my way over to the Mystic Grill. It was supposedly the place where most people go as it was some sort of bar and restaurant. Mainly from the concept of the bar being here, I kind of guessed that Damon would either be here or he’d be here soon.

I had been sat at the bar for a few hours, just drinking whilst people watching. From next to me someone cleared their throat. Turning to look at him, I realized it was Stefan’s teacher I momentarily met earlier.

“Hello,” I smiled.

“Hello,” He responded, “have you just come to town?”

“Well, I’ve just come back. I grew up here, but I haven’t come back here for a long while,” I shrugged sipping my drink.

He ordered a drink from the bar before turning back to me, “I’m Alaric by the way.”

“Victoria, but you can call me Tori,” I smiled back.

He nodded taking a mouthful of his alcohol. He was quite attractive, and looked a bit older than my physical age, but obviously I was a lot older- unless he was some sort of supernatural creature, but I highly doubted it.

“So how do you know Stefan?” He questioned.

I guessed he’d ask, that was pretty much the only thing he knew about me other than my name and the probable guess that I like to drink.

“He’s my baby brother. I haven’t seen him a long time, as we’ve never gotten along due to sibling rivalry and what not, but I thought it was about time, we had a family reunion,” I chuckled.

“I never knew Stefan and Damon, had a sister,” He stated.

“I highly doubt they’d mention me. Damon and I got along when we were younger, our Father always saw Stefan as an angel but disliked Damon and I, so that forced us closer to one another. But I lost contact with them both many years ago,” I shrugged.

“Is Damon the oldest?” he questioned.

“No. I am older than him by two years.”

We carried on our conversation, moving from the bar to a booth so we could order food seen as he was hungry and I pretended my hunger was for measly human food.

Sitting there still in discussion our food arrived as did an un-expected guest.

“Well I never thought I’d see my best friend and sister at such a cozy dinner,” he smirked.
