Ariana's POV

I thanked Bonnie for walking me home, and once again promised that I wouldn't hurt Caroline as long as she didn't hurt anyone. Once she left, I hoped that either Damon or Stefan was home, seen as I didn't have a key, but I highly doubted they needed to lock their front door seen as they were vampires.

Knocking on the front door I waited for one of the brothers to open the door. After a couple of moments Damon arrived at the door opening it.

"Hey Ari, did you have fun with your other family?" He said rolling his eyes.

"Of course Damon, they're not blood suckers," I smiled in return walking into the house and towards the living room.

The fire was burning and I could see the stakes and vervain I had brought with me burning.

"Damon, what the hell? Did you go through my stuff?" I frowned.

"Do you think I was going to let you come and stake me in my sleep? You are now living under my roof, and by the looks of it I am now your new guardian meaning you are going to be having a break from vampire slaying. You have no need for vervain, as I will not compel you, and neither will Stefan, and we will both take care of you when it comes to over vampires, meaning you have no need for vervain or stakes. So you better go get some sleep because you have school in the morning, speaking of which I will take you to school tomorrow," He smiled.

"I wasn't going to stake you, unless you decided to kill someone, and how can I trust you not to compel me. You killed Zach, I may not have ever met him, but he was still my uncle, and yes at this point you are one of the only members of my family still alive, well you aren't alive, but yeah you know what I mean. And I don't need you to take me to school, I already have a ride," I stated with my frown still prominent on my face.

"Do you have a boyfriend already?" He smirked.

"No Damon, a boy called Matt Donavon offered to drive me to school in the morning and I accepted. I should really make friends around here, as I am sticking around for a long while," I smirked, "Night Damon, sweet dreams."

With that I walked up the stairs quickly going up the room I had been given. All of my stuff that had been in my bags when I left the house earlier was now sprawled across my bed and the floor.

"Damon Salvatore, get your arse here now," I shouted, although I knew he could hear me even if I only spoke normally, but there wasn't the same emphasis to it.

In moments Damon arrived at the door, leaning against the door frame with a smirk on his face.

"Yes my dearest Ari?" He smirked.

"Ariana, and what the heck, have you done to my stuff? Clean it up now," I frowned.

"No."

"Damon Salvatore, clean this mess up now before I break a chair and ram it through your chest," I hissed.

He let out a laugh before he did as I told him. It was clear that he didn't really want to do it, but he probably guessed that I was in an extremely bad mood and I was willing to attempt to kill him.

He began to pick garments of clothing up and putting them where they should be in my room. He stopped letting out another laugh. He turned around holding up a pair of my underwear.

"Seriously Disney girl boxers?" He laughed.

"They're comfy; I don't need a pair of sexy underwear when no one will see them," I frowned taking them out of his hand putting them in a draw.

"Is that you discretely telling me you're a virgin Ari?" He smirked still tidying up.

"I'm not having this conversation with my multiple great uncle," I frowned.

This wasn't a suitable conversation to have with a family member, even if they were a very distant family member.

"You so are. How old are you?" He chuckled.

"Seventeen, so why would I rush into having sex?" I frowned.

He laughed once again as he finished tidying up the mess he created.

Nothing else was said other than us saying goodnight to one another.

I got ready quickly realises it was 7:45 when I woke up. I was ready just in time to leave the house as Matt arrived.

I shouted my goodbyes to Damon and Stefan, seen as Stefan hadn't left yet and Damon was probably going to be in the house throughout the day.

When I got into Matt's car I smiled.

"Hello," I smiled.

"Hey, you ready for your first day of school?" he smiled back.

"Yeah I guess," I shrugged.

School wasn't something that I am probably going to want to look forward to in general, let alone my first day at a new school where I barely know anyone.

He let out a chuckle as he drove towards the school.

"When we get to school, I'll take you to the school office to get your timetable and other information, before taking you to your first class," He smiled.

"Thank you Matt, but you honestly don't need to do this for me. Just driving me to school is more than enough," I smiled in return.

"I don't mind Ariana, you'll be getting me out of lessons and you seem like a nice girl, I want to be friends, so this is the least I can do," He shrugged.

"Thank you Matt. I'd like to be friends too, I've never really had friends before," I sighed.

In my previous school, I never had friends seen as I could never go anywhere with anyone after school, as I would always be sent to Alaric and Isobel's house where I was trained to become a vampire hunter.

I was just simply odd and rather angry, meaning very few people would want to be my friend and the only ones who did, were jerks. Whereas Matt didn't seem like a jerk and he seemed like he was a nice guy, but he didn't really know me. I highly doubted the people in this town knew the truth about me.
