Ally's POV
I wasn't one for dresses or going to balls but I was willing to do so tonight. It wasn't like I wasn't girly because I was a bit, but I'd rather be in comfy clothes which generally didn't involve a ball gown.
The green material rustled as I made my way down the steps into the crowd of well-presented people. I knew most of them as they had lived in this town for years but then there were a few people that I had no idea who they were.
As soon as I saw the brunette man I hadn't spoken to for a few days, I walked quickly towards him. Moving fast wasn't something that my dress enjoyed doing. When I reached him I tapped him on the shoulder. Once he turned to look at me he smiled.
"Hello Alessia," He smiled pulling me into a hug and kissing my cheek.
"Hello Elijah," I smiled in return.
Elijah was by far my favourite original, not that I knew some of them. Klaus used me, but I got back at him, so we were on good terms. Rebekah and I were in a good enough relationship but nevertheless I preferred Elijah.
"So the Salvatore's actually let you leave the house and come here?" he chuckled.
"Yeah, they laid down some rules, but I can't remember them, I think it was if they had the last name Mikaelson avoid them, and stick by the side of a Salvatore the whole time, but that didn't really work out, oh well," I shrugged.
We talked for a little longer before he had to join his family to make a speech to all of the guests before we all made our way to the ballroom.
I looked around the room for Jeremy or one of my male friends to dance with just all of them were either out of my view or had someone to dance with. Standing there I knew that I'd end up sitting at the side just watching whatever anyone else was doing.
As I began to make my way over to the wall so I didn't have to dance my favourite original appeared in front of my putting his hand out for me to take.
"You aren't getting out of this Alessia. You are dancing with me whether you like it or not," Elijah chuckled leading me to the dance floor.
As the music started he guided me through the dance but it was lucky that he was a vampire because if he wasn't I would have surely left them in a lot of pain from standing on his feet so many times.
"I'm so sorry about your feet, but it was kind of your fault for forcing me to dance," I chuckled.
"Luckily I am a vampire, so I doesn't hurt me that badly, but I do believe I need to teach you how to dance," He chuckled as well.
"I'd love to learn but I am very clumsy Elijah, and I'd fear for your life and my own," I smiled innocently.
I truly cared about Elijah and by no means could I say I wasn't attracted to him as I was, but I wouldn't want him to teach me to dance. Granted the concept of being close to him was rather nice but I didn't enjoy the thought of continuously damaging his feet.
He laughed at me taking my hand and placing it onto his shoulder, taking my other hand in his whilst gently placing is other hand onto my waist.
I smiled at him as he sorted out where our hands should be, mainly because it meant he was close to me but also because it was kind of awkward.
"Now copy what I do. So if I move my foot backwards you move the foot opposite mine forward to the space where mine was," He smiled, "Like this."
He moved his right foot back, meaning I moved my left foot forward towards him. He did a few more steps so I tried to copy them best I could, but sadly it didn't end well as I tripped over his foot. As I went to fall backwards his hand pulled me closer to him so my chest and stomach was pressed against his.
This moment may have been a lot nicer if we weren't in the middle of a ballroom with a lot of people dancing around us.
He smiled at me helping me stand up but before he could actually say anything someone taped him on the shoulder. Stood behind him was Damon Salvatore, obviously not impressed with what he saw.
"Can I borrow Ally please?" He stated, and before either of us could respond Damon had gripped my hand pulling me by it out of the ballroom and into the rather grand hall.
"What do you think you were doing?" He exclaimed letting go of my hand.
"I was dancing with Elijah. What is your issue with me doing what I want? I know you think you love me and want to protect me, but you're just stopping me from doing anything and that's just going to make me hate you," I frowned.
He shook his head holding onto my forearm with one hand and placing his other hand on my shoulder.
"I care about you Ally, and I don't care whether you don't feel the same way about me, but I love you Ally. It's no longer about Stefan and me competing or about Katherine. I love you for you, Alessia," He sighed pulling me to him and pressing his lips to mine.
I didn't love Damon. It felt like I should love him but I didn't, and I wasn't going to pretend that I did. Pulling away from him I slapped him on the cheek with as much force as I could.
"I don't care whether you think you love me Damon. I don't love you and I am not going to lie to you about it," I hissed.
"Prove it. Prove that you don't love me," He smirked obviously thinking that I did truly feel that way about him but I didn't.
"Okay."
With that I walked over to the brunette man stood in the hall talking to an older woman. When I reached him I taped him on his arm.
"Hello, I'm sorry to bother you, but do you have a girlfriend or any other type of partner?" I questioned him.
"No," He stated looking slightly confused.
I smiled at him reaching to his collar and pulling him down towards me, seen as I was significantly shorter than him and pulled him lips to mine. I did truly expect him to pull away from me but he didn't instead he kissed me back.
When I realised it was getting slightly out of hand I pulled away from him not even paying attention to him as I turned around to smirk at Damon.
