Tori’s POV

The wind was calm but still left the leaves on the trees rustling lightly.  The weather recently had left the floor covered in a few red and brown leaves but a dry floor. I had found a nice place to hide from my family but I’d have to go back soon. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family but it is a heavily male dominant family and I didn’t like it.

At the moment my oldest brother Damon was at war and was expected back anytime soon. I missed him dearly but my Father saw him as a disappointment to the family. Although I’d never tell my Father Damon was definitely my favourite family member.

He was two years younger than me whereas our other brother was nine years younger than me. Also my Father was too busy being a member of the town council to spend time with me.

“Victoria,” I heard the youngest Salvatore shout.

I stood up from the floor trying to wipe down my dress but it was covered in grass stains. To be honest my Father was disappointed in me too. By now I should be married or at least being courted. Sadly I didn’t like anyone in town.

“What Stefan?” I questioned walking over to him. We were both in the garden quite a way from the actual house.

“Damon is home,” He stated, “Father wanted me to get you.”

“Damon’s here?” I smiled.

I held the edge of my dress before running to the house. When I got into the house I saw my brother standing there in his uniform.

“Damon,” I smiled running to him and hugged him.

“Hello Tori, how’s it been without me?” He chuckled hugging me back.

“It’s been horrible. I’ve missed you so much,” I smiled softly pulling away from the hug, “So has Lady Katherine.”

His face seemed to light up at the mention of her.

“She’s still here?” he questioned.

“Of course brother, she’s been spending an awful lot of time with Stefan,” I explained.

Lady Katherine was an orphan that’s family had died in a fire. My Father had decided she could stay with us without offering us whether we wanted her there or not.

Both or my brothers had taken a shine to her which I guess was a shame as it would only tear this family up more.  Stefan loved her and initially they looked like Katherine loved him but then Damon came along. She quickly moved onto him- as well. Now she is in a relationship with both of them and neither of them will listen to me trying to put sense into their heads.

She doesn’t seem like the sweet innocent woman that my Father sees. She is evil and manipulative. Not only is she playing both of my brothers she is also playing other men in town too, another reason why I’m not married and in a relationship.

“Well now I’m back so he doesn’t need to keep her company,” He smiled giving me one last hug before walking off obviously looking for Lady Katherine.

“Love you too Brother,” I muttered.

Slowly I made my way to leave the house but my Father called my name from behind his slightly open study door.

I pushed it open slightly walking into his study.

“Yes Father?” I smiled.

“Victoria, could you do me a favour please?” He smiled back softly.

“Yes, Father,” I stated.

“Can you go and walk over to Jonathon Gilbert’s and give him this letter for me please?” He said handing me an envelope.

“Sure,” I sighed.

I took the envelope from his hands and left the house. I knew where Jonathon Gilbert lived I had been the postal service for my Father numerous amounts of times.  The walk wasn’t that far, Jonathon did live on about the other side of Mystic Falls but it didn’t matter. At least it meant I was out of the house for when Stefan notices Lady Katherine was with Damon.

A horse’s neigh woke me from my thoughts. I turned to look for where the sound came from only to see a flash of a horse and carriage before a scream left my lips and everything went black.

Damon’s POV

A scream rang through my ears. Not only a scream a familiar scream of terror that belonged to my sister.

“Katherine that’s my sister,” I stated standing up and taking her hand in mine.

Although I knew she was a vampire I dragged her down the stairs where I saw Stefan.

“Stefan, Tori’s in trouble,” I stated.

He looked as if he had heard her scream but wasn’t scared about what had happened like I was. We all walked outside of the house and split up to look for Tori. Within a couple of seconds I found her barely conscious in the middle of the street. It was a secluded street so no one was around her.

“I found her,” I shouted kneeling down next to her. Within a few more seconds the other two were knelt down next to me.

“Shall I go get Father?” Stefan questioned.

“She’ll die before we can get her a doctor. Katherine can’t you give her your blood?” I begged.

“No. Why would I? I’m a vampire not a blood bank,” She frowned.

“Please Katherine, she’s our sister. Please save her,” Stefan smiled softly at Katherine but his eyes held sorrow as our sister’s life was slowly slipping.

She rolled her eyes biting her wrist and holding it over Tori’s mouth until all her injuries were healed.

“Just carry her home, she’ll feel fine soon,” She shrugged.

I lifted her up with one hand under her knees and one behind her back before carrying her home and lied her down on the couch.

Tori’s POV

My eyes slowly fluttered open as all the prior events came rushing back to me. I was hit by a horse and carriage and then Lady Katherine gave me her blood and I’m now fine.

Damon was kneeling on the floor holding my hand and resting his head on my stomach.

“Damon?” I croaked as my voice came back to me.

“Tori you’re okay. I’m so glad you’re okay. How do you feel,” He smiled softly pulling me into a hug.

“I’m okay, I ache and I’m sure there’s a little bit of scarring but vampire blood does do the trick in healing a person,” I smirked.

It was obvious he knew that she was a vampire and I knew what vampires did. They were manipulative and didn’t deserve to live.

“What are you talking about?” He said softly looking nervous.

“Don’t act dumb Damon, it’s not flattering. I know Lady Katherine is a vampire and I know you know,” I stated sitting up.

“Are you going to tell Father?” He questioned seeming sad.

I smirked. Was he being serious? I knew him and our Father didn’t see eye to eye but he also knew that our Father was anti-vampire. I didn’t particularly like my Father but I didn’t plan on holding this back from him, he needed to know.

“Of course I am. He needs to know Damon. She is a monster and will kill you, and the rest of the town. At least now I know something that Father wants I won’t be a huge disappointment, I’ll be the God given child,” I smiled standing up.

“You can’t Tori, she’ll be killed. You’d never want that to happen would you?” He begged.

“I will do whatever I can to save you Damon,” I smiled softly leaving the house.

I knew my Father would be at Jonathon Gilbert’s so I carefully crossed the road. I walked down a few my roads and crossed another few until I came face to face with someone familiar.

“Hello-“ before I could finish my sentence everything went black with their hands on either side of my head.
