Kelly’s POV
For some reason since I had moved into Mystic Falls my evenings (and most of my days) had turned into a pit full of self-despair, where I would sit at the bar drinking away my sorrows. I didn’t know why I decided to move here was beyond me. The Mystic Grill was always filled with teenagers and young adults- meaning under twenty years old. No one here by the looks of it was in my age range. There was a selective few people a lot older than me and a lot of people a lot younger than me.
Even though I had only been sat at the bar for a short period of time, I had drunk more than one drink. In front of me was an empty glass, as I was contemplating another drink. Why I questioned having another one, was weird, I knew I would drink quite a few more.
As the bar tender began to walk towards the end of the bar I was sat at I called him over.
“Excuse me can I have another please?” I smiled softly at him.
He nodded going to turn away but someone’s voice stopped him.
“Put what she’s having on my tab along with what else she’s had. Also can I have the usual,” A man who took the stool next to me stated.
The bar tender turned towards me and I shrugged. The man wandered off to get us our drinks.
“Um… Thanks, I’m Kelly,” I smiled at him.
“Damon,” He smiled in return.
He had piercing blue eyes and dark black hair. My elder brother had warned me about a Damon, and that I needed to avoid him. I highly doubted that this one was him, and anyway, I rarely listened to what my brother said.
The bar tender walked over and handed the pair of us our drinks. As soon as mine was set on the bar, it was back off of it and touching my lips. Even though I now had company, my main aim was to drink myself into oblivion.
“You’re a heavy drinker, for a woman,” Damon chuckled taking a sip of his drink.
“How sexist of you,” I frowned, “You can’t really talk though about being a heavy drinker as you have a usual at a bar.”
“Least change the topic,” He smirked, “So are you new to town?”
“Kind of I guess, I moved to town about two weeks ago,” I shrugged.
I didn’t really like to talk to strangers, especially ones who were also heavy alcoholics. Quickly I finished my drink before he carried on the conversation.
“So what has brought you to town?” He questioned still drinking his drink.
“I moved in with my brother, and he’s lived here for a while,” I shrugged.
As Damon finished his drink he ordered us both another. With that most of the evening went by in a blur.
~*~ The Next Morning ~*~
Jeremy’s POV
For the last fortnight Ric’s younger sister had moved in with us as well. She seemed nice and definitely let Elena and I get away with things Ric wouldn’t. I guess because she was younger and didn’t have the responsibility of being our new guardian as well as our teacher.
She was quite irresponsible by what Ric had told us, and now we were getting a good serving of the irresponsibleness. Kelly was never home early, but last night she didn’t bother coming home. As well as this she wasn’t answering her phone and Ric being Ric, was getting worried about the shenanigans she could have got up to.
Since we woke up this morning, we had been looking for her, as well as regularly phoning her- which came to no avail. Elena wasn’t helping us as she had gone with Bonnie to her Mum’s house, so we didn’t get her help.
