Goodbye

The day we met,

My mind was set.

You would change my life for sure,

It was like a sickness with no cure.

We shared many memories together that I won't forget,

That is one thing I simply won't let.

We used to hate each other in the past,

But that didn't seem to last.

You were my best friend,

But that came to an end.

We fell in love, at least I did,

My feelings were contained and you removed the lid.

But then you left and did what you said you would not,

Forgetting me and leaving me to rot.

For my own good, you said, was it really?

All of it now seemed really silly.

I tried everything to get you back,

I wondered what it was that I lacked.

But now I can see,

That you weren't really worth it for me.

People said I'd find someone better,

Which I have but I don't really have her.

But now as easily as I can say hi,

I can finally tell you,

Goodbye.
