Walking Out

You

My mind always seems to come back to you,

But I can't tell you that it's true.

We share some very joyous times,

Even though you know nothing of my crimes.

You have him, and I'm happy you do,

But can't you see how I feel too?

The heat and the feelings surround me when you're near,

With you, I don't need to shed a tear.

Your stare makes me melt away,

Leaving me not knowing what to say.

The warmth of our friendship makes me happy,

And that does sound a little sappy.

But something between us wouldn't work it seems,

And that realization smashes into me like huge beams.

You have him and look pretty perfect together, which is great,

But again it seems as if I was too late.

So I will walk down this path alone,

And try to change my life's tone.

We share some memories, and I want to share many more,

But not one that involves you walking out the door.
