The whole palace was in an upheaval, chaos rampant in its halls. People rushed around, spreading the news of the crown prince rebelling.

There were mixed views on what everybody knew- the crown prince was rebelling because of the servant boy called Type. Some said what you would expect them to say.

"That little slut put family against family. He's a shame to the royal bloodline. A stain on the trueblood name."

Others were worried.

"Is it true he's rebelling?? I've seen the prince fight, he's definitely winning. But if he's the new king, what's gonna happen to us?"

Some however- in the servant quarters, were ecstatic.

"Thank god. Type does look so good with him. And now he won't have to mate that horrid man -I never liked him- there's something wrong with him."

Women talking in the kitchen.

"If he becomes the King consort, who knows, maybe life will become easier for us too. And they make such a beautiful pair."

Girls in hushed whispers.

"To think he's doing that just for Type. Eeeeeee..how romantic... When will I get my prince charming?"

Tharn on the other hand was overlooking the final preparations for the uprising. He'd had to leave the palace without talking to Type, as soon as the news of his rebellion spread.

He might be his only son, but the King would have him killed now. After all, he was after the throne. And the sad truth was- his father would choose the throne over him anytime.

"Are the men ready Lhong?" He asked the man besides him. They'd gathered around 1000 men with them. And for breaking into the city walls, these would be enough.

"They've been ready for a long time Sire. They owe you their lives, you've fought besides them, worked besides them. They've been waiting for your command."

Over the years serving in the Naval base at the coast, he hadn't just stayed there. He had toured the country, made friends with people of different localities, learned their languages and cultures. Sat down on the earth and shared their plain meals.

His father had underestimated the influence he had built on the people largely. He was worshipped. Adored as the only royal,  to ever come out of the palace, and give his time and attention to the poor.

And so as soon as Type's engagement had been announced, and Lhong had told him to wait, he had sent riders to the local town leaders. And people had revolted,  as news of the prince's chosen omega, being forcefully mated to someone else reached them.

People had set out towards the capital, and while their total strength was over a million, Tharn had told them specifically-he wanted no more than enough men to take over the capital city.

And let me tell you, making the people stay home, was no easy task, especially since it had becone known that the man the prince's omega was to mate, had tried to rape him.

"Sire!!" Lhong said. His voice snapping Tharn out of his thoughts.

"Lhong.." He looked at his best friend. Who much to his annoyance had started to call him Sire, so as to sound appropriate for the people looking at them.

"Our last messenger from the palace arrived. The King refuses to promise a smooth transition of power. He won't give up the throne."

He knew that was coming. His father would give up his life before he gave uo the throne. Tough for him, Tharn had no intention of killing him, he'd live to see Tharn sit on that throne with Type at his side.
