I looked out my spyglass. "Uh, dad, you might want to see this."My dad snatched my spyglass. "The Avatar and the banished Prince. This must be my lucky day."
I gasped. The Avatar's here's too? That means Sokka's here.
"Commander Zhao, what are your orders?"
"Shoot the bison down, Captain." Zhao replies.
"But there's a fire navy ship out there, sir one of our own. What if it's hit?"
"I don't really think he cares," I muttered.
"So be it." Zhao says. "It belongs to a traitor. Ignite!"
"Launch!" Zhao yelled as the soldiers threw fireballs at the ship and bison.
I looked up at the sky to see The Avatar and his bison, along with Sokka and his sister.
"Launch!" Zhao yelled again.
I grabbed my spyglass back and got a closer look at Sokka. He then fell off the bison. I gasped.
"What is it Nico?"
"Oh, nothing. Just realized how blue the sky is." I nervously laughed.
Zhao ignored his daughter's weird behavior.
"Ready, fire!" He yelled as the bison got closer to the ship.
The young monk jumped off the bison and blew up the fireball with his airbending.
"Woah." Nico awed, as they passed by the ship.
"Where do you think the Avatar is headed, sir?" The Captain asked Zhao.
"I'm not sure," he responds. "But I bet a certain banished Prince will know."
Right after Zhao said that, Zuko's ship approaches. Surprisingly, Zhao let them pass, realizing that he could simply follow Zuko's ship and lead us to the Avatar.
As we started following Zuko's ship, I noticed the trail of the black smoke starting to head two different directions.
"Uh, Zhao, look."
"Good eye, and what did I say about calling me by my first name." He said as we completely ignored Zuko's ship and followed after the tiny boat.
Eventually we stopped by Avatar Roku's temple.
"Zhao, I see Zuko."
"Follow him quick." Zhao ordered.
I quietly chased after Zuko. He eventually found the Avatar and everyone else. I hid behind the temple walls.
"Why did you help the Avatar?" Zuko asked one of the fire sages.
"Because it was once the sage's duty." He responds. "It is still our duty."
We then heard slow clapping. We looked back to see that my father had arrived.
"What a moving and heartfelt performance," Zhao announces. "I'm certain the Fire Lord will understand when you explain why you betrayed him."
"Commander Zhao." The sage bows.
"And Prince Zuko," Zhao continues. "It was a noble effort, but your little smokescreen didn't work. Believe it or not, my daughter is very intelligent."
"Thanks dad." I say, emerging from my hiding spot.
"Nico?" Sokka gasps.
"Hi, Sokka." I nervously say.
"What are you doing here?"
"My dad's the commander."
"Oh, so you're after Aang too?" Sokka asks.
"No, no, not at all. Just my dad, I just wanted to tag along," I awkwardly smile. "Well sort of, but not?"
Sokka looks at me unimpressed. Then an idea struck him.
"Why don't you come with us?"
The Water Tribe girl, who's name I still didn't know spoke. "Sokka, are you crazy? We don't even know her. What if she's just as bad as her father?"
"Katara," Sokka says. "Look at her. Does that look like a face of a crazy killer to you?"
I slowly glanced up at her and gave her the biggest puppy dog eyes.
Katara was about to give in. "I'm not buying it," she scoffs.
Zhao and his soldiers were ready to attack Aang when he emerges from the chamber. With a flash of light and a billow of smoke, the door opens and they firebend at the figure behind the door.
However, they are shocked and horrified to see Avatar Roku emerge rather than Aang.
The Avatar takes control of their fire and sends it back at them with great force, knocking his attackers backward and melting the chains holding Katara, Sokka, the sage guy, and Zuko, releasing them.
Zuko quickly grabbed my wrist and ran for his life.
"Hey, what are you doing? Let go of me!"
"Do you want to die, you idiot? He's gonna destroy the temple!" Zuko barked at me.
I then heard a huge explosion, Zuko gave me a look. I closed my eyes tightly, debating on what to do.
"Let's go." I responded as we boarded Zuko's ship.
When we boarded the ship Zuko threw me in a cell.
"Wait, hey, why am I in a cell? You're the one who told me to follow you."
"Save it for tomorrow, sweetheart." He growls, slamming the cell door.
