After the storm that had happened, Sokka had become very sick. Katara and Nico were taking care of a ill and delirious Sokka. Who was talking nonsense.

"You know what I love about Appa the most? His sense of humor."

"That's nice, Sokka, I'll tell him."

Katara glared at me. "Don't encourage him."

Appa growled.

"Ha, ha," Sokka laughed. "Classic Appa."

"How's Sokka doing?" Aang asks.

"Not so good," Katara replies. "Being out in that storm really did a number on him."

"I couldn't find any ginger root for the tea," Aang says. "But I found a map. There's an herbalist institute on the top of that mountain. We could probably find a cure for Sokka there."

"Aang," Katara says. "He's in no condition to travel. Sokka just needs more rest. I'm sure he'll be better by tomorrow."

Katara began to cough.

I slowly backed away from her. "Not you, too."

"Relax." Katara says. "It was just a little cough. I'm fin-" she coughed again.

"That's how Sokka started yesterday," Aang stated. "Now look at him. He thinks he's an earthbender."

"Take that, you rock." Sokka says, from afar.

"A few more hours and you'll be talking nonsense, too. Nico and I are going to go find some medicine."

"We are?"

"Yes, we are." Aang said, grabbing Nico's arm.

Lighting flashes across the sky.

"Uh, maybe it's safer if we go on foot." Nico suggested.

"Uh, yeah, good idea."

"Keep an eye on them guys," Aang says to Momo and Appa.

Nico jumped onto Aang's back as he began running quickly with the aid of his airbending.

They reached the herbalist institute and Aang immediately commences to relay his problem to the elderly herbalist, who is busy gathering ingredients.

As Aang's explanation starts to become panicked, she calmly tells him to settle down, noting that his friends would be just fine.

She begins to tell Aang and Nico her life story: she has lived atop the mountain for forty years. The institute used to be a lively place, though now, she and her cat, Miyuki, were the only ones left.

Despite Aang's nonplussed reaction, she continues to reveal that wounded Earth Kingdom soldiers still frequent the institute and it is due to her remedies that they are all able to recover quickly.

Not really interested in what the herbalist has to say, Aang asks if she is almost finished with the concoction she was making and is told that it only needed one more ingredient.

The elderly woman promptly starts to peruse her vast garden at a leisurely pace, causing him to grow impatient.

The herbalist finds the final ingredient for her concoction, much to Aang's relief.

The moment she drops the plum blossom in the bowl, Aang grabs it expectantly and thanks her for the potion, only to be swatted away from it by the wooden-spoon-wielding herbalist.

As she angrily asks him why he did that, Aang reveals his intention to bring the cure to his friends, eliciting laughs from the elder, who calmly explains that what she has made is dinner for Miyuki, not a cure.
