Nico is the 16 year old daughter of Admiral Zhao. Not only is she the daughter of Zhao but the granddaughter of Bumi, from her mother's side. After her mother's death, Nico was forbidden from seeing Bumi or leaving the Fire Nation.

A week had passed by and Nico was starting to get along with everyone in the palace. Her and Azula were fine, her and Ty Lee left off from when they were children, Nico and Mai started to tolerate each other and the most important one, Zuko, they were still a bit awkward but they were working on it.
Azula had approached Nico, asking her if she wanted to attend a little vacation to ember island. Nico was thrilled, she loved going to ember island with her parents when she was a kid, she couldn't pass the offer.
The teens were now being sent off to the island on a boat.
"I'm so excited to spend the weekend on ember island." Ty Lee exclaimed. "It's gonna be great to hang out on the beach and do nothing."
"Doing nothing is a waste of time. We're being sent away on a forced vacation. I feel like a child."
"Lighten up Zuko." Nico smiled for once since her arrival. "It'll be fun."
"Dad wants to meet with his advisors alone without anyone else around." Azula stated. "Don't take it personally."
"Doesn't your family have a house on ember island?" Ty Lee asked.
Azula nodded. "We used to come every summer when we were kids, remember Nico?"
"That must've been fun!"
Nico smiled. "Yeah it was."
"That was a long time ago." Zuko mutters.
Nico rolled her eyes. What a downer.

The boat pulls into the small port as Lo and Li greet the teenagers. "Welcome to ember island, kids."
They were led into the house.
"It smells like old lady in here." Zuko whispers.
"Gee, I wonder why." Mai sarcastically said.
Ty Lee pointed to a painting with two woman standing in a pose. "Who are these two beautiful women?"
"Can't you tell?" One of the twins said.
"It's Li and me."
"It's Lo and me." They both said recreating the pose on the painting.
Nico rose her eyebrow as everyone else looked disturbed.
Ty Lee grabbed Nico's hand and ran into a room throwing them both on the bed.
"Ooh, I love this seashell bedspread." Ty Lee beamed.
"Are you serious?" Mai said. "It looks like the beach threw up all over it."
"We know you're upset that you were forced to come here this weekend," Li said. "But ember island is a magical place, keep an open mind. Give it a chance. And it can help you understand yourselves and each other." They both said in union. It was starting to get a little creepy.
"The beach has a special way of smoothing even the most ragged edges."
Nico and Zuko both glanced at each other.
The twins clapped their hands. "Time to hit the beach." They said, removing their ropes and exposing their not so pleasant bathing suits.
Nico then grabbed Zuko's hands and placed them on her eyes. "Please burn this horrible image out of my head."
Zuko chuckled, wrapping his arm around Nico. She looked up at him and smiled.
