Nico is the 16 year old daughter of Admiral Zhao. Not only is she the daughter of Zhao but the granddaughter of Bumi, from her mother's side. After her mother's death, Nico was forbidden from seeing Bumi or leaving the Fire Nation.
After her father...
Azula relentlessly shoots fire and lightning at Nico. She proceeds to taunt Zuko, who is collapsed on the ground.
"Katara heal him!" Nico shouts.
Azula then blasts a bolt of lightning at Katara. "I'd really rather our family physician to look after little Zuzu, if you don't mind."
Katara finds water to bend, Azula is too quick for her attacks and the waterbender is forced to flee from her immense flames.
As Katara is getting attacked, she finds a metal chain, she quickly tosses it over to Nico.
"What are a bunch of chains going to do to me?" Azula hysterically laughs.
Nico discovers a grate with water underneath. Luring Azula above the grate, Nico showcases her new ability to Azula, using her metalbending to binds the firebender's hands together to the grate with the chains, tightly restraining Azula.
Nico soon rushed over to Zuko, who was already being healed by Katara.
She quickly runs up to her boyfriend squeezing him. "I'm so glad you're okay."
"Nico, you're hurting me." Zuko softly hissed.
"I'm sorry."
Azula sees her brother rise, still alive, and her brittle mind finally shatters completely; she firebends from her mouth wildly before rolling around on the ground, screaming and crying uncontrollably. Zuko, Katara, and Nico silently look upon what has become of the once-mighty Azula with pity.

Nico was equivocating if she would stay with Zuko at the palace, now that he was the Firelord.
Bumi had a serious talk with her last night, about how she would be the next queen of Omashu, and to be honest, Nico didn't know what to do.
She felt like it was her duty to become the queen of Omashu, but the obvious decision is to stick by Zuko, like she has been for most of her life.
But she also didn't want to let her Grandfather or Omashu down, because she has been absent from her duties since her mother died and Bumi was getting old.
And Zuko and Nico might have had a fight after the whole Agni Kai situation with Azula, so they were not on the best terms right now.
The next day at the Fire Nation palace, Zuko is trying to dress himself for his coronation as Firelord, but is having trouble due to his injuries.
Nico sneakingly runs behind Zuko. "You need some help with that?"
"Nico, you came! I thought, I thought you wouldn't want to be with me anymore because I was Firelord."
"Zuko, you sound stupid. Anywhere you go I go." Nico smiles, helping him with his robe.
"Does this mean, you'll become Mrs. Firelord?" Zuko asks.
"We'll talk about it." Nico smiles placing her hand around Zuko's neck and pulling him for a deep sweet kiss.
As they break apart their foreheads are still touching. "I love you, Nico."
"I love you." Nico smiled. "Now help me pick out my outfit."

Everyone soon gathered in the Fire Nation Capital City for Zuko's coronation.
The crowd cheered as Zuko and Nico came out.
"You look so hot, bae." Suki yells from the crowd.
"I love you, Suki." Nico shouts.
"Please, the real hero is the Avatar." Zuko says.
On cue Aang comes out as everyone cheered once again.
"Today, this war is finally over! I promised my uncle that I would restore the honor of the Fire Nation and I will. The road ahead of us is challenging. A hundred years of fighting had left the world scared and divided. But with the Avatar's help we can get it back on the right path, and begin a new era of love Zuko addresses the crowd that the War is now over and gives Aang the credit for saving the world as everyone cheers. Zuko is crowned Fire Lord and declares the start of a new era of love and peace.
Nico smiles brightly at her Prince as she watches from the sidelines.
"I have one more thing to address." Zuko says bringing Nico in the center of the palace with him.
Zuko gets on one knee as he pulls out a crown. "Nico, I've known you for basically all my life. You're not just my girlfriend but my best friend. I want to build a life with you, I want us to rule this nation, the right way. Nico, will you marry me?"
Nico's mouth had dropped to the floor.
The woman was too stunned to speak.
She didn't think Zuko would propose to her this early, but fuck it.
"Yes. Yes, I will, Zuko."
The crowd had went ballistics.
Nico grabbed Zuko off his knees and hugged him softly. "I love you."
"I love you too," he replies kissing her on her head.

Sometime later in Ba Sing Se, life has improved in the world; the stack of Fire Nation tanks Bumi destroyed is being used by children for earthbending games. At the Jasmine Dragon, Zuko helps serve tea to the gaang.
"Tea, love?" Zuko offers to Nico.
Before Nico could answer Sokka begins to yell at them. "Zuko, stop moving! I'm trying to capture the moment. I wanted to do a painting so we'd always remember the good times together."
"Aw, Sokka that's so sweet." Nico smiles walking over to Sokka to observe the painting. "What the fuck is this?"
Katara peeks at the paining. "Wait, why did you give me Momo's ears?"
"Those are your hair loopies." Sokka replies.
"At least you don't look like a boar-q-pine." Zuko scoffs. "My hair is not that spiky."
"Bae, your hair isn't spiky at all." Nico reassures.
"I look dead." Nico adds as she looks more into the painting.
"And why did you paint me firebending?" Suki asks.
"I thought it looked more exciting that way." Sokka shrugs.
"Hey, my belly is not that big anymore. I've really trimmed down." Iroh says causing Nico to chuckle.
"Well, I think you all look perfect!" Toph beams.
Wtf, am I actually done with this book? No way. I'm so sad to see another character go😭 no like actually, I was lowkey attached to Nico. But thank you everyone who has been here since day 1 with Soul. I really appreciate every one of you, thank you all for your hilarious comments, it literally makes my day.
