Chapter 30- The Boiling Rock

"No one can make tea like Uncle." Zuko says serving everyone tea. "But hopefully I learned a thing or two."

"I do hope so too." Nico murmured.

"What was that?"

"Oh, nothing." Nico shook her head.

"Well, would you like to hear Uncle's favorite tea joke?" Zuko cheerfully asked.

Nico smiled. "We would love to."

"Ok, well, I can't really remember how it starts but the punchline is leaf me alone, I'm bushed!"

Nico eyes widened as everyone blankly stared at Zuko.

"Well, it's funnier when uncle tells it." Zuko sadly said.

"Right. Maybe that's because he remembers the whole thing." Katara said, causing everyone to laugh.

"It's nice to get a chance to relax a little. It hardly ever happens." Toph says.

"Don't jinx it." Nico warned.

After Zuko passed around his tea, he disappeared for a while, but Nico thought nothing of it until it was almost bedtime and Zuko was still not in bed.

Nico's curiosity hit her, she smelt something fishy going on.

Everyone was sleeping outside today. Nico did a head count and noticed both Zuko and Sokka weren't there.

She then heard some loud whisper yelling, her ears followed the noise, leading her to Zuko and Sokka.

They jumped off Appa and snuck away in the back, with Nico following close behind.

As the two went from the back, they approached a war ship ballon, Nico had assumed Zuko had token from the invasion.

Nico snuck up behind the two teenage boys, startling them.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Nico!" The boys both yelled.

"What are you doing here?" Zuko asked, grabbing Nico's shoulders.

"Don't ever sneak up on us again!" Sokka panted. "You scared the living soul out of me."

"Sorry, just wanted to know where you guys were headed to." Nico innocently smiled.

The boys peered at each other.

Sokka scratched the back of his head. "Well, we're going to the boiling rock to rescue my father."

"The boiling rock?" Nico beamed. "I've always wanted to see that place."

"What why?" Zuko asked.

"I don't know," Nico hummed. "My father always threatened to throw me in there when I misbehaved."

"Well you're not coming." Zuko said.

"And why not?" Nico asked, crossing her hands over her arms.

"Because it's not safe." Sokka added.

Nico pushed the boys aside and hopped onto the air balloon.

Sokka and Zuko glanced at each other back and forth, wondering who was going to speak first.

"Well you boys coming?" Nico smirked.

"Fine." Sokka groaned.

Nico fakely pouted. "You don't want me to join your little party?"

"It's not that, it's just, I don't want anything bad to happen to you."

"Pfft." Nico laughed. "I'll be fine, I should be worried about you." Nico joked, elbowing Sokka.
