:) :) :) Patton's Point of View
Patton walked through town, thinking about all that was happening. He felt anxious and scared about the upcoming war, it had been two days since war was declared. He was worried about his friends, he was worried about the kingdom and he was worried about himself. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, he needed to focus. They were once again out of flour in the kitchen and he was sent to buy enough for dinner.
"We either have a flour thief or you bake too many cookies." The head chef had joked. Patton smiled at that, he was stress baking but no one complained, everyone loved his cookies. As he mused about everything that was happening a hand grabbed him by the shoulder. Patton nearly jumped out of his skin and spun around. He found Kaleb was grinning at him.
"My gosh you scared me!" Patton gasped causing the blacksmith to laugh
"I was calling your name but you didn't seem to hear me." He explained, Patton blushed in embarrassment
"Sorry, i-i was thinking." He excused and the large man waved him off
"No worries. I heard you guys are pretty busy lately, is there anything going on?" Kaleb asked, he seemed to be worried. Patton frowned
"Uh yeah, there's been some things that have come up." He gave a shrug, most people knew about the upcoming war but no one, not even Patton, knew the plans yet. Roman and Logan had been especially quiet about everything. Patton sighed "war preparations have been hard on everyone so I'm making cookies tonight for dinner." He explained. Kaleb nodded then grinned
"I think this is a perfect moment to tell you your daggers are done." He exclaimed and Patton's eyes widened
"Really?!" He gasped
"Yeah, wanna see them? They are pretty fine." Patton nodded quickly. Kaleb led him over to his shop and walked him past the many weapon racks. There was less weapons on the shelves than the last time Patton had walked in. "Your lucky you ordered them when you did, the next day I was slammed by orders." The black smith chattered as he walked around the counter and ducked behind it. He bounced up a few moments later with a roll of leather. He unrolled the leather slowly and Patton stopped breathing for a moment. Wrapped in the leather was a set of five daggers, two were small, two were medium and the last was large. The hilts were polished steel and was decorated with light blue gemstones. There was a swirling design on the blade. The blade was sharp on both sides and it had been polished so much that Patton could see himself in the blade.
"They're gorgeous." He gasped when he finally breathed. Kaleb laughed heartily
"Why thank you. I put a lot of effort into them." Patton frowned slightly
"Er, how much is it?" He asked and Kaleb laughed
"You owe me nothing, some knight decided to do you the honor." Kaleb explained and Patton gasped
"He didn't!" Patton was furious. How could Roman pay for his knives? He turned about to storm out of the shop but Kaleb stopped him.
"Before you go on a rampage, take the knives with you. You will need them where your going." He stated seriously. Patton blinked at him and he could have sworn he saw the blacksmith's brown eyes flash yellow.
"Thanks." He giggled, shrugging as he took the daggers. "I hope I won't have to use them." With that he left. He walked through the market, daggers tucked under his cloak. He quickly bought the flour that he needed and returned to the kitchen. He couldn't help but think about Roman. How could he have done that, why did he do it? Patton frowned as he thought back to the day they had ordered the daggers. He had baked cookies and went to Logan's room to drop off dinner. Inside he could hear his two friends debating something.
