:) :) :) Patton's Point of View :) :) :)

Patton held Roman's waist tightly as they barreled down the road. It had been hours since they left the Baron's mansion behind them. Smoke was billowing out of it that followed them like a ghost. They were now out of view of the smoke and Patton was grateful. It was a reminder that Anxiety and Logan were still there, possibly fighting for their lives. At first, Patton had begged Roman to go back for them, pleading with him but he had explained to Patton the plan. Patton did not like the plan. Roman and Anxiety had agreed that they would meet at a town on the other side of the border. What Patton didn't like about it was that it was at least a two-day journey from their current location. Patton buried his head into Roman's back as he felt tears begin to brim. Too much could happen in that time, not to mention crossing the border would be dangerous for them. All four of them were being hunted and if they were caught they would be killed.

"Pat..." a voice called, breaking through his anxious thoughts.

"Mhmm?" he replied, he didn't trust his voice to come out strong. He didn't feel strong anyways.

"They will be fine. Anxiety will protect Logan and Logan will protect Anxiety." Roman promised and Patton let out a sigh

"I know b-but we all know A-Anxiety, h-he'll injure himself and- and-" Patton would have kept talking but his tears finally fell. He curled his fingers around Roman's shirt as he cried, cheek resting on the man's back. He would have been embarrassed for getting his tears all over his friend's shirt but he didn't have room for it in the whirl of emotions he was trying to process. As he cried Roman gently patted his hands with one hand, giving as much comfort as he could while he was leading the horse. Patton felt something brush his cheek and he cracked his eyes open, craning his head to see what it was. A little purple lizard ran down his arm and onto Roman's shoulder, staring intently up at Patton. Patton smiled at them, sniffling

"Thanks, Solile." he thanked then his heart dropped "Solile!" he gasped, surprising Roman who jerked the reins by accident. Copper let out a neigh in surprise, rearing at the sudden tug on his reigns. They nearly tumbled off of Copper as he slid to a stop. Roman soothed Copper softly then he turned in the saddle to look back at Patton

"By all that is Disney, what was that Patton?!" Roman asked and Patton blushed, looking down at his hands. He hadn't meant to surprise Roman, it just... happened.

"Sorry Roman, I just... I realized we still have Solile and that means that Anxiety is going to be without them and he'll get worried and what if it affects his magic and-" Roman cut him off with a sigh

"Patton, we discussed this, we can't go back. The best we can do is continue going and we'll meet them at Fractal Shore," he stated calmly as he gently took Patton's hands in his. "I promise you that if they aren't there I will leave immediately to find them." Patton frowned then gave Roman a watery smile

"Ok." he gave in, giving a nod.

"Alright, until we reach there, I do believe someone will have to take care of Solile for Anxiety..." Roman stated with a grin. Patton's face brightened at the thought

"I can do that!" he cried excitedly and Roman gave a nod. He gently plucked the lizard, who had been clinging to his cloak, off his shoulder then plopped them down into Patton's outstretched hands. Roman nodded then turned and patted Copper's neck

"Shall we be off again?" he called back and Patton nodded then realized the other couldn't see him

"Yes, let's keep going." he agreed as he held Solile close "I promise nothing will happen to you until we find Anxiety again," he spoke softly to them. They rubbed their head against Patton's thumb and let out a happy chirp.
