~~~ Roman's Point of View ~~~
Roman frowned as he walked through the forest, he was looking for wood with the major nerd. Neither spoke as they walked through the forest, occasionally bending down to pick up sticks. Roman was trying to wrap his mind around the concept of magic. It was such a foreign concept for him. He only knew one other person who did magic and that was his friend at the orphanage. Roman let out a long sigh as his mind wandered to Anxiety. They had known him for a couple of days and he could see a physical improvement. Anxiety didn't flinch as bad as he used to and his skin wasn't as pale as it was before. His wounds were healing pretty quickly and he seemed more open to the group. Roman smiled softly at that thought. Anxiety had even allowed them to speak with his familiar Solile. Roman was still in shock that he not only saw but also spoke to a dragon in person.
"Logan, can you believe it?" Roman asked turning to Logan suddenly. Logan jumped from the sudden outburst and glanced over at Roman. "We actually got to see a dragon!" he stated with excitement. Logan's eyes lit up
"Indeed it is a one-of-a-kind opportunity." Logan commented as he adjusted his glasses "Perhaps Anxiety will allow me to study Solile so that I may write a more accurate book on dragons. Those fantasy novels you read do not give justice to such elegant creatures." Roman scoffed
"They are good books!" he defended and Logan shook his head
"They are nothing more than paper filled with the fantasies of a mind. It is better to have facts than fiction." he countered as he gave Roman a poignant stare. Roman rolled his eyes
"But where is the adventure in knowing every fact?" he questioned "Plus you can't always rely on fact, you have to be able to act for yourself!" Roman took a moment to pose dramatically with a stick in his hand. Logan rolled his eyes
"I never stated that facts replace actions, however, knowing all the facts can influence actions," Logan spoke as he stooped down to pick up another stick.
"How so?" Roman questioned and Logan turned to the knight, giving him a condescending stare.
"Take for example what happened the first time we met Solile. Had we known that she was Anxiety's familiar and that they meant no harm to Patton we would not have reacted aggressively. However, we did not have all the facts and so we reacted aggressively thus causing Anxiety to feel overwhelmed." Logan explained carefully. Roman hummed as he listened along. The logical man was correct.
"Well... you have a point in that instant." he agreed then he shrugged "But if I'm in a fight with a group of people that are against me I won't need to know where they come from or why they are attacking me until the fight is over." he countered. Logan had a complex look cross his face as he thought about that.
"True but there are other facts that you need such as, how each person fights or the number of people you are up against," Logan spoke as he glanced around the area. Roman rolled his eyes and bent down to grab another stick
"Let's just agree to disagree. In the heat of the moment, I don't need to know every detail-" Logan stiffened as he saw something behind Roman but Roman wasn't paying attention
"Roman..." Logan tried to warn but the man kept talking
"-like do I really need to know if my enemies are left-handed or right-handed?" Roman scoffed as he straightened then he froze. He finally noticed what Logan had been trying to warn him about. There was a group of soldiers in front of them, some held swords out towards the two while others pointed crossbows at them. Roman swallowed as he dropped the wood in surprise, his hand slowly moving to where he usually kept his sword. His hand grasped empty air and he inwardly cursed. He had left his sword back at camp.
