-0-0- Logan's Point of View -0-0-
Logan frowned as he paced around the room he had been forced into. After the scene at the gate, he and Patton had been taken to the Baron's mansion where they were separated. Logan let out a huff as he worried about Patton. He only had the Baron's word that Patton would be unharmed. Logan looked towards the window and frowned, venus was low in the sky which meant he had been in the room for hours. As he looked out the window at the forest surrounding the large estate he couldn't help but wonder where Anxiety and Roman were. He hoped that they had enough sense to keep traveling. He sighed at that thought, there was no chance that Roman would leave them.
"I hope he doesn't do anything rash." he groaned as he sat down on the single wooden chair in the room. The room was bare other than a bed, a desk, and the chair he was on. Logan made a point to glare at the desk where a stack of papers sat. The Baron had decided that since he was the Baron's prisoner, he needed to make himself useful and act as the Baron's scribe. It was evident by the man's mannerisms that he was egotistical and a narcissist. He took pleasure in making other people miserable. Logan slumped in the chair as he went over their predicament. There was no way that he could save himself and Patton alone. It was also probably improbable that they could escape even with Roman and Anxiety's help due to how many men the Baron had under his control. Not to mention Roman's lack of planning and Anxiety's lack of control when it came to spells. That thought made Logan's heart sink, this was the end then. They had risked so much just for knowledge and it had ended in disaster.
"I never should have allowed Roman to convince me to do this," he grumbled under his breath. He knew it was unfair of him to blame it solely on Roman but there was nothing else he could do in the small room beside the paperwork the Baron wanted him to do. As he was brooding he heard the sound of a key in the lock and he sprung to his feet. The door swung open and a guard strutted in.
"The Baron has summoned you, bring your paper and quill." the guard instructed and Logan frowned
"And if I refuse?" he asked calmly. The guard strutted over to him, a glare on his face
"I wouldn't suggest that, you still have that friend of yours to worry about." he threatened and Logan swallowed, looking away.
"Right." he turned to the desk and grabbed a few blank pieces of paper and a bottle of ink.
"Follow me and don't try anything. If you do we'll double the punishment we give to your friend." the guard hissed and Logan followed the man out of the room. As long as they had Patton, Logan would do anything they asked. He was led down the same hallway they had taken to get to his prison and he took this second time to notice the area. The walls were adorned with an assortment of battle gear and had a few heads from beasts that the Baron must have slain. Logan heard footsteps and glanced down the hall, his gaze meeting with soft brown eyes.
"Logan!" Roman cried in excitement but the sight of his friend made Logan's heart sink. He was covered in dirt and had his hands tied in front of him by rope. He had been caught.
"Y-You're not supposed to be here." Logan snapped, the dread that filled him caused his voice to come out cruel. Logan now had yet another reason to do as the Baron said not to mention they now had no hope for escape. Roman's expression dropped to one of confusion as he blinked at Logan but he continued to follow the guard who had summoned him.
"Keep moving." a voice echoed after him and he heard the sound of his friend's footsteps move farther and farther away. Logan looked at the ground as they walked. He used to think that he would never bow to anyone other than Thomas and yet here he was bowing at the thought of losing his friends to the Baron. They reached the doors to the entrance room and the doors were swung open. He was led into the room and motioned to a table where he sat down, not even bothering to look up.
