:) :) :) Patton's point of view :) :) :)
Patton and Anxiety talked until dinner was ready. Well, Patton did most of the talking. Logan and Roman were planning their next few steps and which villages they could stop in for supplies. Patton slowly stirred the pot when he noticed Anxiety talking quietly. He looked over to Anxiety and noticed the confused look on his fate
"I know but..." he whispered softly. Patton frowned as he sat down next to Anxiety
"You ok kiddo?" he asked causing Anxiety to jump
"Oh, u-um yeah," he replied and Patton nodded slowly. He hummed as he debated whether to ask Anxiety or not. It only took a moment for his curiosity to win out
"Who ya talking to?" he asked, tilting his head to one side. Anxiety bit his lip and looked away. Patton noticed the conflicted look the other had and quickly backtracked "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to!" Anxiety looked over at Patton then looked down at his hands.
"Uh... I'm talking with my familiar." He explained but Patton gave him a confused look.
"What's a familiar?" Patton asked, moving closer to Anxiety as if he were about to be told a story. Anxiety smirked slightly at the excitement of the other.
"W-well..." He stopped then let out a slow breath. "I'm not sure how to explain this. There are different types of witches, my witch type is known as a familiar witch. They are witches that have an animal friend... Most witches have cats or dogs as their familiars. It's rare but some have horses or s-snakes..." Anxiety stopped when he said snake and a distant look came into his eyes. Patton gave a nod as he did his best to understand everything Anxiety had told him
"So... Does the animal friend help the witch?" He asked, bringing Anxiety out of his daze
"Oh uh yeah. It's a symbiotic relationship. The witch and the familiar share magical energy between them. It's the only reason I'm still alive..." Patton stared in confusion at Anxiety
"What do you mean?" Anxiety let out a sigh
"I-its over now, you don't have to worry about it." He dodged the question. Patton noticed the man's hands were shaking and decided to drop the subject.
"So... What does your familiar look like? Is it a kitty?!" He gasped and Anxiety shook his head
"No, it's not a cat... I don't have a normal familiar..." he explained and Patton deflated for a moment then an idea popped into his head
"Can I see your familiar?!" He asked excitedly as he bounced up and down. Anxiety seemed unsure and he looked like he was about to say no but he stopped
"Are you sure?" He mumbled "but what if-" Anxiety flinched "fine." Patton watched in anticipation as Anxiety lifted his hand and plucked something off his shoulder. He held it out to Patton who cupped his hands and watched as Anxiety dropped a small purple lizard into his hands. Patton stared in surprise at the lizard, it was the same one he had fed oatmeal to.
"Patton, Solile, Solile, Patton." Anxiety pointed to each one. Patton cooed
"Awe they're so cute!" He gasped as he brought the lizard up to his cheek. "Your familiar is a lizard!" Anxiety let out a snort
"Lizard?" He gasped as he gave Patton a shocked look. Patton blinked in confusion "No, Solile isn't just a lizard." he let out a sigh "Sol, do you really think that's a good idea?" Patton watched as the lizard spun around in his hands and give a nod. He felt a small bubble of excitement build in his chest when the lizard turned to him.
