Part 14 "New Neighbor"

CHAEYOUNG'S POV

It was my day off and Jihyo Noona will be the one to handle our coffee shop today with Tzuyu. I'm drinking my green tea when I decided to text Mina.

C: Hi, good morning Mina!

M: Hello, may I know who's this?

Hehe, so cute.

C: Oh, I'm sorry. It's me Chaeyoung. Sorry if I get your number from Momo.

I was waiting for her reply for about 3 minutes. "Is she mad that I get her number without her approval?" My mind said.  I put down my cp first on the table. I bite my fingers. Should I text her again?  Then suddenly I heard my message ring tone. I hurriedly get my cp .

M: No, it's alright. We are friends now right?

That was scary huh, I thought she was mad.

C: Yes, of course. By the way, have a nice day, Mina.

M: Thanks, you too, Chaeyoung.

I actually want Mina to invite for a meet up but she might just think that I'm hitting on her. So I just decided to go to the nearby park to get some fresh air.

MINA'S POV

I talked with my parents the other night after Chaeyoung drove me home. Luckily, they didn't question me why am I late and who's I'm with. They might scold me if they will knew that I'm not with Momo or Sana. They want me to befriend others but not with a man.

I decided to move out by myself, after many times of convincing my parents, at last, they approve my decision to buy my own condo unit. The reason why is I want a place that I can call my own. Also, our house was too far from my friends.

The place I chose has a great view and near to convenience stores, restaurants, park and etc. I'm here  outside the condo, picking up some last boxes to put inside my unit. Its pretty good that I brought few things only.

At last, I finished. I look at the wall facing the painting Chaeyoung made for me. I can't remember when or how he gave it to me but somehow it feels so special. Then suddenly, I remember the kiss. What the heck Mina, why are you blushing!

I shook off my head and meanwhile, I feel hungry. I went to a convenience store to buy ramen cup noodles. I don't know, it feels like I'm craving for it. After a few minutes, my ramen is ready to eat. I guess its 2 minutes to finish the whole cup. I burped and for that, I need a walk. I know there's a nearby park here and its famous for its beautiful trees.

I sat down to a bench few blocks from me and put my headphones on. I played the song "Be As One". I really love the song and its message. As I try to close my eyes, someone's hands cover it. I remove the hands and saw the culprit.

"Hi?" his husky voice said.

"Oh! Chaeyoung-ah! Why are you here?"

"It's my day off today at our coffee shop and I just live here around. So I went here for a walk. You, why are you here?" Chaeyoung asked.

"Ah, I move in to my new condo unit. It just a few blocks away. I found my home so far that's why."

"I see." Chaeyoung shortly replied.

I scan his face then into his neck as he staring at the view while us sitting in a bench. Then, my eyes avert to his lips. My gosh Mina. Stop thinking about the kiss!

"Your necklace is pretty. Is that your zodiac sign?" I asked as I tried to forget what I'm thinking.

"Oh this? Yes, taurus." He held his necklace and chuckled. "Someone very special to me gave it as a birthday gift." He added.

I can see his joy seeing that necklace. Somehow it looks like familiar though. Does he have a girlfriend? If he does, why can't he introduce it to me?  Why could he even do that? And why couldn't? I'm his friend. Wait Mina, why are you curious?

"Mina, are you okay? You're spacing out." I realized Chaeyoung was talking to me. I came back to my senses.

"Sorry, I think I'm just tired hehe." Mina said as she fix her headphones and put it to her backpack.

"Uhm, Chaeyoung. I need to go back to my condo now."

"Yeah, sure." he respond.

When Mina was about to leave, she saw Chaeyoung calling her and run into her.

"I'll just walk you home, if it is okay?" Chaeyoung shyly said while his hands on his pockets again. What a shy cub.

"Okay." I smiled at him.

After a few minutes walk, Chaeyoung was confused about what places are they passing until they arrive at the condo.

"This is where you live Mina?" he said like he was so shocked.

"Yes. This is it. Why? Is there any problem Chaeyoung?" I confusedly ask. He seems so shocked. Then I saw him chuckled.

"What floor are you?" He asked.

"Sixth." I replied.

"What so funny?" I look at him because he's still smiling.

"I guess I should welcome you. My new neighbor"  he smiled at me which makes me chuckled too. What a coincidence, isn't it?
