Aidens POV
I yawn and stretch easily, looking around my new apartment. For some odd reason I was bruised and had cuts all over my body. Also, I can't remember anything except what has happened in the recent three weeks. To this day, I have no earthly idea how I ended up in a random apartment in Washington.
~3 weeks prior~
My head aches as if World War III is erupting in the small walls of my mind. Slowly, my eyes peek open, looking around. I was in the middle of a unfamiliar apartment and could not recall anything whatsoever. I lean up gently and look across from me on the coffee table. There lay a note.
Aiden,
You have no memories of anything that has happened in the past. Think of it as a... gift. Watch your back and live a new life. Don't screw this up. There will be no other chances. I gave you $1000 for the start of your rent. The rest is for food or whatever you decide.
Enjoy,
DWho was D? Why did they do this to me? What happened in my recent life that would make someone take away my memories? Was it my fault?
I shake the flashback from my mind, standing and walking to my closet before getting dressed in a regular t-shirt, black ripped jeans and my black leather jacket. Today is the day that I go job hunting. Yippee. Note the sarcasm. I quickly curl my hair and put on makeup. I check my outfit one last time, grabbing my wallet and phone, leaving my apartment. Everything besides the apartment and furniture I had bought with the money "D" gave me. Whoever that person was, they seem to just want to keep me as far away from my old life as possible and I don't quite know if that's a bad thing.
I walk down the sidewalk humming to myself. My feet tap on the asphalt below me, keeping the beat to the song playing through my head. I pass by shop after shop, looking for any help wanted signs. Where do I even begin to look for a job around here? I sigh in annoyance, walking into a random Starbucks across the street. I look around the shop until my eyes land on a cute couple. I order my drink, letting my eyes drift to the couple once again. The boy had already gotten up to get them drinks while the girl looked around. Her eyes suddenly land on me, flashing pure hatred towards me. What did I do? I step away from the counter, with my drink in hand, and look to the floor.
A quick pain shoots through my foot as I realize that the boy had stepped on my foot, backing into me. Without realizing, I let out a small squeak, causing him to chuckle. I quickly looked over at the girl, watching her face turn red with fury. Why did she hate me so much? "I'm so sorry miss! I didn't-" the boy starts but soon stops, looking down into my eyes lovingly. "It's no problem sir. Have fun with your Mrs. over there" I reply, wanting to get away from his girl on the other side of the shop. I smile big at him before turning and leaving the shop.
"Aiden!" a husky voice calls after me, causing me to turn and see the boy chasing after me. I back away hesitantly, fear beginning to run through my veins. "H-How do you know my name? Who are you?" I call out, feeling my hands starting to shake. "Y-You don't remember me?" he questions, his voice filling with heart break. I shake my head confused. Abruptly, I feel strong arms around me, hugging me tight. My heart thuds fast as I scream, pulling myself away from his arms. "Let go of me! I don't know you!" I yell. He immidiately releases me, causing me to fall to the floor. Instantaneously, I stand and run in the opposite direction, fearing for my life.
"Aiden wait please!" he calls. I hear footsteps chase after me as I speed up. I run straight to my apartment, hoping to lose him along the way. Once finally arriving, I run through the door and into my bedoroom, locking it behind me. "Aiden?" he questions, his voice lingering into my apartment. Where's my phone? My head whips back and forth searching. Then it hits me. I dropped my phone and wallet when I was being hugged by the lunatic that is now in my apartment. "GO AWAY! I DON'T KNOW YOU!" I scream, backing into the corner of my room. Tears well up in my eyes before I soon drift off into a deep sleep.
Ty's POV
It seems like I'm the only one who is looking for Aiden anymore. I had grown so close to her she felt almost like a little sister. I had to protect my family even if she wasn't pure blood related. Adam left a little while ago to go meet the Wicked Witch of the West at Starbucks. However, he should be back by now.
My phone suddenly begins to buzz, indicating a call. I reach across my laptop and answer the phone, tiredly. "Ty! I found her! I found Aiden!" Adam exclaims, happily. "How? Where?" I exclaim, standing and throwing the computer on the couch. "I followed her to what I guess is her apartment? I called out her name and hugged her but she screamed and claimed she didn't know who I was" he replied in one breath. I could tell his happiness soon turned to fear by the way his breaths picked up.
"Text me the address. We're going to help her. We're getting our Aiden back" I say, hanging up the phone then grabbing my laptop. What did her mother do to her this time?
