Aiden's POV

Walking into his house, the first thing I noticed is the view from his back door. The ocean clapped as it landed on the shore. I watch the birds fly overhead and the waves slide across the sand. "Aiden?" Adam calls, waking me back to reality. "Coming" I reply, backing away from the window and walking towards where I think Adam called me from. I walk into the bathroom and over to Adam as he sits me on the edge of the bath tub. "This may sting a bit" Adam warns before touching a wet cloth to my forehead. I wince and jump, grabbing his hand. Almost as quickly as it appeared, the pain faded away. He takes the cloth and throws it in the trash before putting a few bandages on my forehead. "Do I need to drive you home?" Adam starts. "No!!" I scream, running out of the room. "Aiden!" Adam calls out to me before wrapping his arms around my shoulders, stopping me. "Hey. If you want, you can stay here" he whispers, turning me around to face him. "But I don't even know you" I choke out, tears rolling down my cheeks. He smiles and pulls me into a loose hug. I hug him awkwardly, since I'm not used to people caring about me. "Then get to know me. If you need a place I'm more than happy to help" he mutters. "Well I need to go record for my YouTube channel.. Do you want to come along and help commentate?" He asks, pulling away and starting down the hallway. I follow him into a office and sit in the bean bag chair in the corner. "No it's alright. I'll just watch" I answer, smiling. He smiles back and sets up the recording then signing into Minecraft. "You play Minecraft too?" I ask, smiling bigger. He smirks and looks over at me. "Aid, it's kind of my job" he answers as he starts recording.

"Hey guys Sky here with another Minecraft mod showcase" he starts as I watch, smiling. He seemed so happy and peaceful when he recorded. Almost as if this was his haven when life got to it's worst. Wish I had one... "Aiden?" Adam says, waving a hand in front of my face. "Wait what?" I ask, giggling. "You like to think a lot don't you?" he asks, smiling. I smile and nod, standing up. "Do we need to go get you a few clothes?". I nod and look over at the time seeing it was about 11 pm. "My mother should be at the bar about now so we have to be quick" I reply as he grabs his keys and we rush out the door.

After getting my things we returned to the house and Adam showed me the guest bedroom, or my bedroom for now. "Thank you Adam. For all of this" I say, smiling at him. He nods before leaving the room, closing the door behind him. I'm surprised he hasn't questioned what happened. How I got my head wound or even why I'm not interested in going home. I throw on a pair of sweats and a tank top, sliding into the soft, welcoming bed before drifting to sleep.

"Aiden!" my best friend called out to me. I look down and notice I was in my blue dress that I always wore as a child. The beautiful teal showed up nicely in the bright sunlight as the sunflowers that scattered all over it gave it more personality. A brown curly haired child ran up to me enveloping me in his tight arms. I hugged back... happily. Elementary school no doubt. The brown haired boy and I ran around the playground, laughing, until my mind skipped into the next scene. I was pressed up against the brick school as 3 older guys surrounded me. 2 of them pinned me down as the other punched and kicked me, calling me names. My blue dress was gone and was replaced by my band t shirt and faded skinny jeans. Middle school. Right before I moved. "Get off of her!" someone yelled as the three guys were launched off of me. I fall to the floor and lay there, not moving an inch. "They're gone Aiden. I'm here" he whispers as I look up at the same brown curly haired boy, who was now older. He wrapped his arms around me as his eyes met mine. I stared intently at them afraid to look away.

"Aiden wake up!!" Adam calls as I lean up from the dark abyss of sleep. I gasp, looking around the room until meeting the eyes that I was just looking at. Sweat poured off of me and the sheets scattered the floor. "Nightmare?" He asks as I stare back. "Have we met before now?" I ask, shaking in the bed. "What?" Adam asks, confusion clouding his mind.
"Adam. Do I know you?"
