Aiden's POV
I wake up to the smell of sizzling bacon. My eyes open slowly as I raise my arms above my head, stretching. I look around and realize that I was in my new room instead of on the couch in Adam's arms. At the thought of his arms holding me tightly, protecting me, I smile. Quietly, I leave my bedroom and walk downstairs into the kitchen. "Good morning sleeping beauty" Adam chuckles, seeing my bed head. I shrug and reply "morning". His smile soon turns into a frown but quickly back into a smile. I wonder what that was about. Adam sets down a plate of pancakes and bacon on the counter in front of me. "Thank you" I reply, about to sit down. Arms grab my wrist and waist as the words "I got you" rings through my ears. No she can't have me already again! No! I scream and fall to the floor, screaming and crying. "No!" I scream again as I reach up and grab my hair tightly as if I was clinging on to it for dear life. "What did you do?!".The arms suddenly disappear as another wrap around me. I knew who it was right away. His embrace was so familiar and welcoming. It was home. "Shh Aiden breathe. It's alright. I'm here. You're safe" he coos in my ear. I look up at Adam then over at Ty. "I'm so sorry Aiden" Ty says, guilt filling his eyes. "It's okay. I'm just so used to being abused everyday, so, when I heard 'I got you' and you grabbed me I assumed the worst. Don't feel bad it's just going to be this way for a while" I reply, slowly releasing my grip on my hair. Adam hugs me close once more before picking me up and setting me at the table. As soon as the guys finished they hurried upstairs to record. While I washed dishes I could hear, every once in a while, Adam yell in a ridiculous voice. He really does love making people happy. "Ty I'm sowy!" Adam begs as I shake my head, chuckling. I wanted to watch them but I knew I needed to practice before I forget my notes. I walk into my room and pick up my guitar, smiling at all of the signatures across it. These were the people that didn't let me give up. Their music inspired me to continue playing, singing and most importantly, living. I walk down the steps and through the living room until walking outside. I needed somewhere calm. The waters slid across the shore with a slight breeze blowing my hair out of my face. Once reaching the dock, I sit down in a beach chair that was lying there and strap the guitar across me. After about a minute of thinking and adjusting chords, I came up with one of my favorite songs.
I got troubled thoughts
And the self-esteem to match
What a catch, what a catchYou'll never catch us
So just let me be
Said I'll be fine
Till the hospital or American Embassy
Miss Flack said I still want you back
Yeah, Miss Flack said I still want you backI got troubled thoughts
And the self-esteem to match
What a catch, what a catch
And all I can think of
Is the way I'm the one
Who charmed the one
Who gave up on you
Who gave up on youThey say the captain
Goes down with the ship
So, when the world ends
Will God go down with it?
Miss Flack said I still want you back
Yeah, Miss Flack said I still want you backI got troubled thoughts
And the self-esteem to match
What a catch, what a catch
And all I can think of
Is the way I'm the one
Who charmed the one
Who gave up on you
Who gave up on youWhat a catch
What a catch
What a catch
What a catchI couldn't continue with the song. My thoughts were everywhere and I could no longer hold back my tears. "Wow" a voice muttered behind me as I jump, looking at them. "May I ask who you are?" I question, standing. My eyes then drift to my arms, which were still covered in cuts and bruises. I forgot that I slept in a short sleeve shirt last night. What if that was Adam's problem this morning? I forced the thought to the back of my mind and continued to look at him for a answer. "I'm Tyler, one of Adam's friends. I was up at the house when I saw someone down here that I didn't know" he replies as I try to hide my arms behind me. "So who are you?" he asks as I look back down at the guitar on the seat. I lean down and pick it up before strumming the chords to the recent song. "Aiden" I reply, smiling. "Oh you're the girl that Adam... ohhhh" he says, piecing things together. "That Adam what?" I question, becoming interested. "His best friend that he lost and finally was reunited with" he answers, smiling. I smile and nod. "So why exactly did you say wow when I stopped singing?" I ask, turning back around to the water. "Your voice is amazing! I came down here whenever you were already about halfway through the song but I couldn't help but stand there in awe. You should sing more often. Yet even better do a duet with Adam. His fans would go wild" Tyler explains as I sit, smiling. I strum the notes once again humming the recent song. I didn't know that Adam had fans. I wonder how many. "May I ask about your arms? I hate to intrude.." Tyler whispers out, feeling bad after asking. I sit for a moment, deciding my words. Should I trust him and tell the truth? Well Adam trusts him so as will I. "My mom. She abused me everyday after moving away from Adam. Right as we moved my dad left. She took her anger out on me. One day I ran, afraid that she was trying to kill me. Adam bumped into me at the park that night and we finally remembered each other. After that things with my mom went down and now she really is searching for any way possible to find me and kill me. That is why I live with Adam now" I explain, continuing to strum the chords. "I'm so sorry" Tyler replies but is quickly cut off by shouting. "AIDEN!" Ty calls. I jump up and turn towards Ty who was running down to us. "Ty what's wrong?" I question, my heart thudding a thousand miles an hour. "They think they found your mom. A car crash about 25 miles from here with a completely mauled body inside. The car matched your mothers and the inside was flooded with the smell of alcohol. We have to go to the nearest morgue to sign that it was her body" Ty says, looking at Tyler. "I see that you arrived Brotato" Ty chuckles. Tyler gives a weird bow as I race up to the house with my guitar in my hand. "Aiden wait!" Ty calls after me. I ignore him and run right into the house seeing Adam on the phone. "Yes sir. We'll be there in a few minutes" he says into the phone before hanging up. "I-Is it true?" I question as he turns to me...
