I woke up after my alarm rang. After taking a shower I got ready for work wearing my white shirt with grey pencil skirt. I tied my hair in high ponytail and applied light makeup on my face.

It's been eight years since highschool. I am still in contact with my friends, especially Aria. About Aria, she is getting married next week. Xander propsed her on her 25th birthday. I am so happy for Ari. First I thought Xander is just like him. But my thoughts about him change when I saw how much he loves Ari.
I was lost in my thoughts when my phone rang. It's Athena, my best friend and secretary. I picked up the call.
" Good Morning Mia" Athena said.
" Good Morning Athena. I am on my way" I said. Because I know she must be calling me to ask me about when I am going to reach.
" How do you know that's what I was going to ask?" She asked. I chuckled lightly.
" Athena, it's been 5 years we know each other and 3 years since we are working together. So of course I know you better than anyone else" I said. We met when I moved here in New York.
" I know, I know. Bye Mia" She said.
" Bye Athena." I said and hung up the call. After getting in my car, I started driving towards my boutique. I reached there in 20 minutes. I locked my car and went inside the boutique.
" Finally, you are here. I was waiting for you" Athena said dramatically.
" I am just 5 minutes late. It's not a big deal" I said. She just rolled her eyes. I swear I am gonna fire her ass.
" Now tell me about today's schedule" I said.
" You have lunch meeting with Mrs. Morris at 12 pm and there are so many orders which are due till Wednesday. So you have to do final checking today if there is any mistake in any dress" Athena said.
" Ok ok" I said and sighed. It's really getting frustrated. I mean it's my daily schedule work and then home. That's it. There is nothing interesting going on in my life.
" What happened? Why are you so quiet?" Athena asked me.
" It's just my life is so boring. There is nothing interesting going on in my life" I said. I looked at Athena. She is looking in deep thought. Suddenly big smile broke on her face. I narrowed my eyes at her.
" Why don't you go on a blind date?" She said. I rolled my eyes at her. Here we go again. I knew she would say that. She tried to set me up with many boys till now.
" No Athena. I am not going on blind date. I just want something interesting, I didn't say I want a boyfriend. And trust me having a boyfriend is not interesting all the time" I said.
"It's ok if you don't want to go. But I am just worried about you. I mean you have been single for like 7 years. Don't you ever think how it would feel to have someone who care about you, who would love you, who would cherish you?" She asked me. Yes I think about that. I want that. But I am scared after my past experience with men.
" I know what you are thinking Mia. But not all men are like that. You know someone is out there for you. Who is waiting for you. And someday you will find him" She said.
" Can we just change this topic. I don't want to talk about it" I told her. She nodded her head.
" Ok let's go for dinner tonight just two of us" She said.
" Ok we will go. Happy?" I said. She grinned at me.
" Yes very happy. I know you don't want a boyfriend but maybe I will find some hot girl tonight" She said biting her lip. I laughed at her expressions.
" Why are you laughing. I have needs unlike someone" She said. I just shook my head.
After talking about work I went in my office. I stood up near big glass window. It's my life now and I don't want any person to ruin it.

Alex's POV :
6:00 pm.
I stood up near big glass window in my my office with coffee mug, looking outside. I heard knock on my office door.
" May I come in?" My Secretary Amanda said.
" Come in" I said. She came inside.
" Sir, you have dinner date with your mom at 7:30. I booked your usual table for you in your favourite restaurant" She said.
" Ok you may leave now" I said and she went out of my office.
I did remaining work till 7 pm. Just then my phone rang. It's my mom.
" Hey mom" I said.
" Son where are you?" She asked.
" I am leaving from work now" I told her.
" Ok I'm waiting for you. Drive safe" She said and hung up the phone.
I picked up my blazer from chair and walked out of my office. After getting in my Blue Range Rover I started driving towards restaurant. I reached there in 10 minutes. I gave my car key to valet and went inside the restaurant.
There was my mom sitting on our usual table. I approached her. When she noticed me her face lighten up. She hugged me tightly.
" Mom I can't breath" I said. She let go of me. We took our seat.
" How are you my son? It's been 2 weeks since I last saw you. Did you forget about me?" Mom said. Tears are shinning in her eyes. I wiped her eyes.
" Mom I was busy with work and all" I said.
" Why always work and work? You don't have time for us at all. Your dad also wants to spend some time with you" She said.
" Ha right. Dad wants to spend time. Do you remember when you guys used to give importance to work than me and Leah?" I said. I can see guilt in her eyes. I didn't want to brought this topic up but everytime she say this I just remember the time when me and Leah used to wait for them to spend some time with us.
" We are sorry for that baby but please take your time for us" She said. I sighed.
