Chapter 26

Mia's POV : 

" So you are going to meet his parents today?" Athena asked trying to hide her smile.

" Don't you dare to laugh at my nervousness Athena" I warned her but that bitch laughed out loud.

" Why don't you give her your best design?" She said after she sobered up from her laugh. I thought about it for a moment then said.

" I would have but I don't know how she likes to dress up or her favorite color so I don't think it's a good idea" I said.

" Ok then best of luck babe" Athena said patting my back. I sat down on my chair with huff and started going throw this week's orders.

" And Mia" Athena said as she turned around and walked towards me again.

" Yes" I asked raising an eyebrow.

" Mrs. Evans called this morning" Athena said. My eyes widened.

" What? Why didn't you tell me before? What did she say?" I asked.

" She said many fashion designer wants to meet the owner of J&M. Everyone is so excited to meet the person whose designs are world famous. I think this is the time, you come out of the dark" Athena said trying to convince me. 

" I can't Athena. I am loving my life as it is" I said leaning back against the chair. 

" Don't take any decision in hurry think about it properly" Athena said. I nodded at her. She walked out of my office giving me a last smile. 

J&M is popular and everyone loves our designs but they are really expensive that middle class people can't afford it. So I started a small boutique here in New York as Janet's closet where we sell different but nice dresses in low price. I did it because I wanted everyone to able to afford dresses like they wanted. Seeing happiness on their face is the most precious thing in the world which we can't get from money. 

I was so engrossed in my thoughts that I didn't realize when time went. I started doing my remaining work.

I got ready to meet Alex's parents. I did practice in front of mirror, about how to talk them. There are many doubts in my mind like, would they like me? will they think I am better for their son? ugh. I've never been so nervous before. I never cared what anyone thinks about me. Talking to strangers is nothing new to me because I get to talk with many strangers everyday in my boutique. But this is not about fashion or dress design, this is about my personal life. I was in my thoughts just then someone rang the bell. I went out in the living room and opened the door. Alex was leaning against the wall with box of chocolates.

" Wow thank you. Please come inside" I said as I took chocolates from his hand.  I went in the living room with Alex behind me. I went in a kitchen and did put chocolates in the fridge. Alex stood in the living room. 

" Why don't you sit?" I asked him gesturing to sit on couch. But he shook his head.

" It's ok. We are getting late. Are you ready?" He asked me looking up and down. 

" Yes I am ready but really nervous" I said biting my lip. He came towards me and held me by my waist. 

" Don't worry baby everything will be fine. I am sure they will like you" He said looking into my eyes. He was going to kiss me but I put my palm on his mouth. He frowned as I did it. 

" I applied lipstick" I said. He groaned but kissed my forehead.

We walked out of my apartment and went in his car. On the way to his house, I got some flowers for his mother. We reached there in 20 minutes. Alex helped me to get out the car.
