Plot: The girls meet under the bleachers for lunch.
8th Grade
Ages: 13
Toni sat in class impatiently twirling her promise ring around her finger. She had drowned out the sound of her math teacher 15 minutes ago, getting lost in her head as she watched the clock tick closer and closer to 12:30pm.
She had been looking forward for lunch since the day had begun when Cheryl and her parted ways for their first few classes. Veronica sat beside her still taking notes that Toni would be sure to ask to copy later in the week before their big test.
Her legs swung back and forth, a smile creeping up on her face when the long hand finally landed on the six. The lunch bell rung, Toni practically squealing as she grabbed her note book and backpack.
"Ronnie I'm gonna need those notes later okay?"
Veronica signed, a playful smile over her face while she calmy gathered her things. "You got it Topaz, but I expect a fun day for just us two as a reward."
Toni nodded sending a thumbs up to the girl as she made her way toward the door. "I promise to wow you Lodge!" She said gleefully before disappearing into the busy hallways of Fox Forrest Middle School. The girl had an extra pep in her step, her smile brighter than it had been all week. Her sneakers squeaked on the floors due to her zipping through the other kids.
It didn't take long for her to reach the other end of the school where the gym was. The hallways were mostly empty as the kids on that hall had just had lunch and were sitting down for their classes.
The closer the curly haired girl got to the gym the the wider her smile became. "She's gonna love it!" She squealed to herself entering the gym. Lucky for her gym class had gone out to lunch with the others meaning that her and Cheryl had a good 30 to 45 minutes all to themselves.
As always Cheryl was already there, laying on her stomach under their designated bleacher drawing on her sketch pad. She had her noise canceling head phones on, and had taken it upon herself to decorate them as she saw fit. She had painted little bears and cherries around them, which Toni thought was amazing when she had shown her.
Due to the headphones however Cheryl didn't hear the jolly girl making her way over to her. Toni giggled plopping down on her stomach beside Cheryl, her arm wrapping around the back of the girls waste as she landed a sweet kiss to her cheek.
Cheryl smiled as a response, her pale cheek blushing red.
Gently Toni raised the headphones from her ears. "Hi Cherbear." Cheryl took them off all the way laying them down on top of her new drawing. She didn't reply but Toni didn't mind. "I missed you." She mumbled her cheeks burning with blush before planting a kiss above the girls brow. "The week is so boring without you."
Cheryl hummed this time picking up her pencil and flipping to a blank page in her sketch book.
I miss you too.
She scribbled out on the page in her loopy bubble letter looking handwriting. Toni always playfully teased her about how round all her letters were, much different from her slanted writing.
