"Gun! Why did the chicken cross the road?""I don't know, why did he?"
"To get to the little bitch's house. Knock Knock!" I whisper in his ear, his back still to me.
"Let me sleep." He muttered.
"No, you have to answer the riddle! Come on, it's not very hard! Everyone knows the answer! Knock knock!"
"Who's there?" He sighed tiredly.
"The chicken." I grinned.
"Now let me sleep."
"No! Now you have to tell me one!"
He sighed and rolled over, the bed creaking as he turned to face me. Despite the darkness, I could still make out most of his facial features.
"Knock knock." He whispered.
"Who's there?" I smiled.
"The murderer."
"The murderer who?"
"The murderer who kills girls that don't let him sleep." He stared me dead in the eyes to let me know this was a warning.
"Well that wasn't very funny."
"Go to sleep." He threw an arm over my face and pulled me towards him. I blushed darkly as my face was pressed against his chest.
*Muffled by his arm*
"But I'm not tired anymore!"
"To bad, sleep."
"Hmph!"
I snuggled closer to him and cuddled up to his warm body.
He smells really good. I traced my fingers along his scars and drew random figures on his chest.
I occasionally let out a few noises according to my imagination and giggled to myself.
I don't know what time I fell asleep, but I sure was surprised when I woke up.
Gun was still asleep so I decided I would go for a morning run.
What's the reason!
The reason is...cause why not?
I slipped out from under him and got dressed before hurrying out the door.
I ran on the snowy sidewalk, my steps were silent and my breath was soft.
I glanced at my shoes as my music played through my earphones.
Is this the safest way to run?
No, it's actually one of the worst since I can't hear potential danger.
Oh well!
I turned the corner and let out a yelp of surprise. I skittled to a stop and the older man in front of me jumped back.
"Oh my God, I am so sorry sir!" I gasped taking the ear buds out.
He was about 6 feet tall, around his mid to late 40's, had jet black hair and black eyes.
He looked a bit like an old time gangster.
"Oh, it's quite alright! Please, don't worry about it. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm sorry for almost crashing into you."
"Please, don't worry about it!"
I smiled and nodded, putting my buds back in.
"How is your brother doing?" He called after I had taken a few steps.
"Excuse me?" I asked pulling a bud out again.
"You look like the kind of girl that has a brother. Older, right?"
I stared at him for a few seconds before laughing as if he made a small joke and jogged away again.
What the fuck is up with that weirdo?
I kept on running and raised an eyebrow.
Is he really following me right now? Is he crazy?! Chasing a young girl this early in the morning while she's alone?! What would people say if they saw?
What a psychopath!
Well, I guess I better confront him before he gets on his high horse.
I spun around and kicked. Gun flinched as my heel was inches from his face.
"Really? I'm trying to have a nice relaxing morning run and you decide to follow me like a weirdo? I could have thought that old man was after me and panicked!"
"Do you know him?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Never met him in my life."
"Hmmm..." He turned and looked towards the direction we came from.
"Leave him, he's probably just a curious and talkative man. Come on!" I chirpped and continued my run.
