The Blonde Boy

    Thank god I found my friends in gym class. I only had four but that was enough. There was Ashley, Jessica, Brittany, and Nicole. I have known Ashlie and Brittany since elementary. Nicole and Jess met me back in middle school. We all get along well, Nicole and Jessica are best friends and Ashley and Brittany are step sisters. We got our gym clothes from the female coach and changed into them. I found the shorts a bit short. The end if it just barley reached my fingertips. But I wore it anyway. Then we were sent outside to warm up and go over the rules. That's when I realized the blonde boy had this class with me too. He was in the group of boys to the left while I was on the side of girls. My coach instructed us on what to do. First we'd stretch our arms. I pulled my right arm across my chest to the left where I could see the boy smiling at me. I gave him a little wave. Then the rest of the girls finished stretching their armed. Now we stretched our legs. I put my hand on my knee and stretched to the right when I heard the male coach scold, "Hemmings!"

Later I found out he got a detention for "enjoying the view". It was what everyone talked about. Next class was Drama. No friends. No blonde boy. Just - my ex? Yep, my ex-boyfriend Michael has the same class as I do. I tightened my grip on my books which I held in front of my chest, looking at the floor trying not to make any eye contact. I found a seat far enough apart from Michael and sat down relieved. "Excuse me," I looked up to see a young girl, probably in her early 30's "what would your name be?" She is my teacher. "Um, it's Katherine." She gave me a warm smile, "Well hello Katherine, nice to meet you. But I must let you know that I've made a seating chart that all students of mine must go by." She didn't mean any danger, she was nice about it. "Sorry, my bad." She pointed out my assigned seat; right next to Michael.
